The annual Glyn Brawley wrestling tournament was held in Corvallis on Saturday. The event honors long time Corvallis wrestling fan Glyn Brawley who passed away several years ago. Schools from across Western Montana attended the event.
Zane Martin of Big Sky pinned Mark Spencer of Corvallis to win at 103 pounds.
Dante Venema of Corvallis won at 126 pounds by defeating Cahl Williams of Salmon. Venema defeated Jackson Bakken o fSentinel in the second round and Alex Granbois of Big Sky in the fifth round. Jimmy Schmitt of Corvallis lost to Kellen Robbins of Stevensville in the second round but came back to finish third after defeating Tyren Stidham of Polson and Granboise of Big Sky.
Carter Brown and James Wissenbach, both of Corvallis, finished in first and second at 132 pounds. Brown defeated Blake Weingart of Big Sky and Allan Allsop of Corvallis to advance to the championship round. Wissenbach defeated Sara Shmoker of Big Sky and Cole Lamoure of Salmon to advance to the championship.
Tristan Davis of Corvallis finished second at 138 pounds. He lost to Hank Dunn of Eureka in the championship but defeated Kanoa Palazzolo of Arlee and Tristan Riel of Stevensville to get to the championship.
At 160 pounds, Kyler Pancake took the championship by pinning Jacob Williams of Big Sky. Pancake topped Ashley Potts of Arlee, Teegan Shafer of Polson and Jacob Seibert of Salmon on his way to the top match.
