It is hard to imagine anyone who is not tired of political advertisements. I suspect we are looking forward to November 7, the day after the election. The most egregious ads are the “dark money” commercials that do not have the approval of the candidates. They are almost all negative and misleading.
The ads that are approved by the candidates, however, tell us something about the candidate. What is striking to me are some of the ads approved by Greg Gianforte. He attacks his opponent, Kathleen Williams, as being anti-gun, dangerous, radical, etc. He is being misleading and unfair to Kathleen.
I have known Kathleen Williams for many years and can tell you that the only thing radical and dangerous about her is that she is honest, sticks to the facts, respects science, and her concern for average folks is real, not a show for political gain. Her opinions are well thought out and not from a political manual. I wish I could say the same for her opponent.
Kathleen is a hunter who thinks maybe we don’t need weapons that can kill many people in a short period of time. She sincerely cares about our quality of life. If we each had 10 minutes to meet and talk to her, this race would be over. Congress is truly a mess right now, and honest people like Kathleen Williams are needed to turn things around.
