Whose bomb is it, anyway?

October 30, 2018 by Guest Post

  By Colleen Miller, Stevensville
CNN didn’t send a bomb to George Soros.
CBS didn’t send a bomb to the Clintons.
HuffPo didn’t send a bomb to the Obamas.
MSNBC didn’t send a bomb to John Brennan.
NYT didn’t send a bomb to Eric Holder.
TIME didn’t send a bomb to Maxine Waters.
WaPo didn’t send a bomb to Joe Biden.
WSJ didn’t send a bomb to Robert DeNiro.
ABC didn’t send a bomb to Cory Booker.
NPR didn’t send a bomb to James Clapper.
Rachel Maddow didn’t chant “Lock her up!”
Don Lemon didn’t promote body-slamming Gianforte.
Anderson Cooper didn’t muse about shooting someone on 5th Av.
Bob Woodward didn’t swallow Saudi excuses about torturing a journalist.
Ronan Farrow didn’t propose his “Second Amendment people” take out a rival.

The registered Republican who created the pipe bombs in his Trump-stickered van is responsible. Trump explicitly encourages such irrational and deadly behavior. As our national leader, he needs to be held to account for fomenting terror.

Responsibility for Trump, in turn, lies with Republican voters who reckon that the gravy train is worth the trail of blood. There is nothing about tax breaks for the wealthy, overturning Roe, shafting immigrants, voter suppression, or simple racism that warrants continuing down the road to authoritarianism devoid of a free press or security for political foes.

Vote for sanity, responsibility, and fair play this time, won’t you? I’ve already voted for Jon Tester and Kathleen Williams; I hope you see fit to do the same.
