Hamilton soccer teams advance

The Hamilton girls soccer team put up more goals against Frenchtown than a team normally does in three or four games. Hamilton won, 15-1. Hamilton scored eight goals in the first half and seven in the second. 

Rylee Wiediger scored three goals including a penalty kick and had two assists. Meggie Lewis also had three goals and two assists. Olivia Zepeda scored the opening goal and added one more in the second half. She also had two assists. Madison Johnson had two goals. Other Lady Broncs who scored were Emily Tuck, Katie Frederick, Lauren Ryter, Rylee Brackman, and Lea Deval.

Hamilton topped Stevensville on Saturday, 5-0, Zepeda had three goals in the match. Ryter scored the first goal of the game on a direct kick. Johnson scored off a Lewis assist and then Zepeda scored the final three goals. 

The Hamilton girls will play either Whitefish or Polson on Saturday for in the first round of the playoffs. The location is yet to be determined. 

Hamilton is the No. 2 seed from the South. 

Loyola, who is leading the conference, defeated Corvallis, 5-3. Kailen Herbstritt scored both goals for Corvallis. Corvallis will play Billings Central, the No. 1 seed from the East in Billings on Saturday. 

The Hamilton boys, who are the No. 3 seed from the South, will travel to Belgrade where they will take on No. 1 Belgrade who is the defending state champion.
