The Ravalli County Planning Department is inviting public comment on a floodplain permit application for work proposed within the floodplain of the West Fork of the Bitterroot River. The proposed project will remove an old log crib bridge pier that is collecting debris and contributing to a hazardous situation for floaters. The project will remove the accumulated woody debris, the crib logs, the associated metal hardware, and most of the fill within the failing wooden crib. The project is located within the banks of the Bitterroot River, at approximate mile marker 15.3 West Fork Rd (MT 473), in Section 36, Township 1 North, Range 22 West, Ravalli County. The applicant is Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks. Information regarding this application is available for review at the Ravalli County Planning Department at 215 S 4th St, Suite F in Hamilton. Written comments may be mailed, hand-delivered or emailed (planning@rc.mt.gov) and must be received by November 15, 2018 at 5:00 pm. (Reference Application #FA-18-11)
