The Ravalli County Planning Department is inviting public comment on a floodplain permit application for work proposed within the floodplain of the Bitterroot River at 3434 U.S. Hwy 93 N, Victor, MT. The purpose of the project is to repair an existing irrigation diversion that was damaged during 2018 runoff. The project will construct a new wooden retaining wall, install a control valve on the existing pipe, and provide bank stabilization upstream and downstream of the installation. The irrigation structure and associated items will be built according to current floodplain standards. The project is located about 3.5 miles downstream (3.5 miles north) of Bell Crossing in Section 34, Township 9 North, Range 20 West, Ravalli County. The applicant is Kootenai Springs Ranch.
