The state Class A tennis tournament was scheduled for two days in Polson and Ronan but due to bad weather, it took three days to complete. When it was over, Corvallis was in a three-way tie with Whitefish and Hardin for first. The key to their victory was an upset by Blue Devil Marius Godard over Hardin’s Gabe Passes in the opening match, 6-4, 6-0. Godard was the No. 4 seed from the Southwest A and Passes was the No. 1 seed from the East. Godard continued his upsetting ways, topping Erick Holdhusen of Whitefish, 7-6, 6-4. That win put him in the semi finals where Godard had to play Brad Rakich of Dillon, another Southwest A player. Rakich won, 6-4, 7-5, and sent Godard into the consolation match. In an all Southwest A consolation match, Godard defeated Manuel Gonzales of Butte Central, 6-1, 6-4.
The Corvallis doubles team of Caleb Warnken and Gabe De Leo lost to Trey Murphy and Kennedy McKay of Havre in the championship, 6-4,6-2. They came back to take third place with a win over Cameron Johnson and Guido Ossello of Butte Central, 6-3, 6-0.
Olivia Fehr finished second in the girls singles after losing to Shea McGinness of Polson, 6-4, 6-3.
