The Stevensville Yellowjackets and Ronan Maidens not only had to play in the cold, nasty weather last Thursday, they had to go to 11 innings before Stevensville pulled off the 9-8 win.
The ‘Jackets got off to a quick start with three runners crossing home base in the first inning. They added another run in the third inning and again two more in the fifth inning while Ronan only scored twice. A Yellowjacket error allowed the Maidens to score two runs while Katlyn Santos had an RBI and then scored to even up the score in the seventh inning.

Ronan scored twice in the 10th inning. Then Stevensville went to work. Taylor Springer and Joey Oyler each had singles in the bottom of the 10th inning. Syd Paul bunted to get on base and move the runners into scoring position. A Ronan error allowed Springer to score and then Oyler scored. It was Paul that made the hit that allowed Kaylee Berning to score the winning run. Paul, Tara Melassi, and Kaylee Berning all had two hits. Paul, Hayley Kampka, Melassi Berning and Sami Morrison, the pitcher, all had RBIs. Maddie Sims had a double.

The Yellowjackets continued their success with wins over Whitefish, 20-10; and Columbia Falls, 10-8. Kampka had six RBIs against Columbia Falls.

Corvallis defeated Columbia Falls 11-5 and then topped Whitefish, 23-13. Ashlynn Nixon smacked a homer in each game and wound up with five RBIs in the two games. Relti Paddock had six RBIs in the two games and finished with five hits in the two games.

Florence had the honor of playing on the Grizzly softball field on Saturday where they met Frenchtown. Brianna Hoffman struck out 13 Frenchtown batters but it was not enough as Florence fell to Frenchtown, 6-3. Shannon Byrne had a double for the Lady Falcons.
