The Florence Falcons hit a slump earlier in the season when they played Deer Lodge and lost to the Wardens. That was on their minds on Thursday when they traveled to Powell County to battle again. Florence came out firing and never looked back as they went on to win, 55-36. Marcus Zeiler knocked down 29 points for the Falcons. Tyce Pederson finished with 10 points. Brent Stroppel had eight, Jacob Round had six and Brendan Bailey had two points in the win.
Florence, the No. 3 seed from District 6B, will open their tournament play on Thursday in Ronan at the Western B tournament. They will play the No. 2 seed from District 7B, Thompson Falls.
The Lady Falcons will be the No. 1 seed from District 6B. They will play the Thompson Falls girls at 11:20am in Ronan. The Lady Falcons defeated Deer Lodge, 54-41, on Friday. Danielle Zahn chipped in 24 points while Emma Stensrud had 13 and Rilee Mangun finished with 10 points. Makenna Liles addd five and Jewel Zeiler finished with two points.
