Corvallis boys improving

Although the Blue Devils split their games this weekend, the team is looking strong going into the district tournament this week. Corvallis topped Florence in non conference action, 62-45, on Thursday. Although Florence was playing without two starters, the Blue Devils didn’t let up and held the lead throughout the game. Ryal Jessop finished with 21 points for the Blue Devils and Zach Jessop added 16 more, mostly from inside the paint. Kobe Jessop also had double figures with 12 points. Florence’s Marcus Zeiler knocked down 26 points.

Corvallis lost to Butte Central, 63-32. Ryal Jessop led the Blue Devil scoring with nine points.

Corvallis – Ryal Jessop 9, Kobe Jessop 6, Caleb Warnken 3, Ridge Albright 3, Caeson Jessop 3, Garret Brown 3, Jeff Stoker 2, Zach Jessop 2, Ryan Wiggins 1.

Hamilton defeated the defending state champion Dillon Beavers on Saturday, 57-44. Hamilton trailed at the end of the first half but bounced back in the third quarter to score 26 points, outscoring Dillon by 16 points. Carter Kearns led all scorers with 18 points. Hunter Omlid added 15 and Tanner Goligoski was also in double figures with 13 points.

Dillon – Ferris 7, Truman 7, Cervelli 6, Anderson 5, Rakich 5, King 5, Fitzgerald 4, Peterson 3, Allison 2.

Stevensville fell to Frenchtown, 60-49. Although the Yellowjackets played tough, they could not stop the Broncs in the Southwest A match up. Logan Roth dropped in 18 points and Colby Meeds and Dalton Bragg had 11 and 10 points respectively.

Frenchtown – Pyron 15, Baker 9, Baker 10, Botkin 13, Rugg 10, Cole 3.

Stevensville – Logan Roth 18, Colby Meeds 11, Dalton Bragg 10, Devlin Sherman 3, Alex Gavlak 2, Jacopo Carletto 2.

Darby split their games this weekend. They lost to Seeley-Swan, 65-28. Nelson Smith scored 12 points in that game. The Tigers defeated Clark Fork, 63-54. Smith finished with 22 points, Cole Kayser had 13 and Brandon Winter finished with 11 points.

Victor lost to Philipsburg, 58-42. Jarod Halley broke loose for 19 points for the Pirates in that game. Victor also lost to Seeley-Swan, 64-37. Halley had 11 points and Mason Agee added 10.
