The Hamilton Broncs ran roughshod over the Dawson County Red Devils on Saturday in quarter final action for the Class A football playoffs. Dawson County advanced to the game with an upset victory over Laurel. Hamilton rolled over Dawson County, 47-0.
Hamilton amassed 506 yards on offense and ran 60 plays. Dawson County had 211 yards on 69 plays. The Hamilton defense was thorough and plugged any holes they could. Hamilton held Cade Dockter to only 70 yards passing and eight completed passes and only 13 first downs.
Hamilton’s Carson Rostad completed 19 of 22 passes for 192 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Rostad went to Tyler Chouinard 10 times for 106 yards and one touchdown. That touchdown was in the third quarter from 23 yards out. Rostad scored twice in the second quarter, one from one yard out and the second from six yards out.
Tyler Barnes caught five passes for 104 yards and two touchdowns. Chouinard threw the first touchdown pass to Barnes from 64 yards out. Barnes also caught an eight yard pass from Rostad for a score.
Bridger Bauder also caught three passes for 39 yards. Bauder carried the ball 21 times for 171 yards and two touchdowns; one for five yards just six minutes into the game and the second for 53 yards in the fourth quarter. He also kicked five of seven PATs.
Hamilton will host Billings Central, the No. 2 seed from the East at 1pm on Saturday. Gates will open at 11:30. No passes will be honored. Ticket prices are $7 for adults and $6 for students.
