God and the Forest Service

October 31, 2017 by Guest Post

I heartily agree with Grace Wilson’s letter last week that God is the one who put out the fires. We prayed and He answered! We should all be thankful for the fresh air we now breathe but take so much for granted.

The general public needs to know, however, that the USFS policy on fires now is to let them burn. There is really no excuse for our local fires to have spread across so many mountains. There was no wind propelling it. They did not attack it when it first started as they should have.

Write your Congressmen and the Chief of the Forest Service. We will be seeing the same scenario again and again, unless policies change.

    G. Luibrand in Corvallis,

That same ‘god’ of yours started those fires, killed two people, countless animals, and destroyed homes, costing almost half a BILLION dollars.

If there was no excuse for the fire to have spread across so many mountains, why didn’t God put it out sooner? Just wondering if someone dropped the ball here!
