Jeanette ‘Jean’ Oroz

Jeanette “Jean” Amy Oroz, 91, of Stevensville, Montana died September 24, 2017 at the Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg, Idaho.

 

Jean was born April 23, 1926 in Stevensville, Montana, a daughter of Hillary Allaway and Ann Margaret Haacke Allaway.

 

She was raised in Stevensville and moved to Rosemead, California at the age of 16. She attended school in Rosemead and continued her education studying nursing at East L.A. College and was on the Dean’s List while there. She worked as a house cleaner and in restaurants in California before moving back to Stevensville in 1982. She lived there until her daughter moved her to Rigby, Idaho to take care of her.

 

Jean married Clarence Phillips in Yuma, Arizona. They later divorced. She married Frank Burt in Winnemucca, Nevada. They later divorced. She later married Raymond Esparza Oroz in Rosemead, California. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls, Idaho LDS Temple. He preceded her in death.

 

Jean was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Jean loved to fish, cook, needle work, crochet, and taking care of children.

 

Jean is survived by her children, Sandy (Gary) Walker of Oregon, Debra (Angelo) Plomaritis of Rigby, Idaho, Valerie Wyglendowski of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Jerry (Martha) Phillips of Stevensville, Montana, Steven (Margarita) Burt of Pasco, Washington, Daniel (Cindy) Burt of Salisbury, Maryland, Robert (Allison) Burt of Indio, California, Leonard (Eva) Burt of Medicine Lake, Washington, William (Renee) Burt of Portland, Oregon, sister Elizabeth Dobb of Butte, Montana, and 128 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

 

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond, three brothers Jack, Kenny and Robert, one sister Midge, daughter Margaret “Mimi” and sons Larry (Jean) Burt and Douglas.

 

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017,  at the Stevensville LDS Church (100 Middle Burnt Fork Road). Burial followed in the Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, Idaho. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.eckersellfuneralhome.com.
