The Corvallis Blue Devils put up all 35 points in the first half of their game against Libby and cruised to a 35-7 win over the Loggers. Quarterback Liang Liedle passed for two touchdowns and then ran for a third. He hit Clay Barcus from 27 yards out for the first score. Aaron Christensen kicked the PAT. Garrick Richardson was Liedle’s target for the second score. Liedle connected with Richardson from 56 yards out. Again, Christensen kicked the PAT. Liedle called his own number for an 85 yard scoring run with Christensen converting. In the second quarter, it was Hunter Pinheiro who recovered a fumble and rumbled 40 yards for the score. It was Pinheiro again who finished the touchdown run for Corvallis with a 26 yard run to the end zone. Christensen kicked both PATs. With that last touchdown, the clock was running for the rest of the game. Libby’s only score came in the fourth quarter when Ginther had a four-yard run for the score and Bower kicked the PAT.

Hamilton fell to Columbia Falls in a close game on Friday night. The Wildcats got on the board after picking off a Carson Rostad pass and making it to the end zone. Austin Green made the interception. Columbia Falls scored again when Green passed to Ben Windauer for 18 yards and the score. The Windauer kick was good.

Hamilton scored once in the second quarter. The first was a five-yard pass from Rostad to Tyler Chouinard for five yards. Bridger Bauder’s PAT was good. Hamilton scored twice in the third quarter and took the lead after a Rostad plunge into the end zone from one yard out. Bauder’s PAT was good. He then completed a pass to Camron Rothie from 44 yards out for another touchdown. Rostad completed 15 of 22 passes. The Broncs had 145 yards in rushing. Columbia Falls came back with nine minutes left in the game to score when Green raced in from two yards out for the score. Final: Columbia Falls 23, Hamilton 20.

Florence defeated Salmon, Idaho, 28-14. Although Salmon scored first when Hunter Tarkalson hit the end zone, it was the Falcon’s game the rest of the game. Florence scored once in the second quarter when  Marcus Zeiler caught a 55 yard pass from Colby Kohlman for six points. Kyler All caught the pass in the 2-point conversion. It was the Zeiler-Kohlman connection again in the fourth quarter when Kohlman passed from eight yards out for the score. Brendan Bailey was the recipient of the Kohlman pass on the conversion. Alm’s number was called on the third Falcon touchdown and he raced in from eight yards out. It was All again for the final score, this time from 15 yards out. Both conversions failed but the Falcons had picked up a win.

Darby fell to Plains in a tight game on Thursday night. The Tigers scored first when Dylan Parks caught a 24-yard pass from Nelson Smith. Garrett Odlin made the run for the two-point conversion. Then Plains went to work and scored three touchdowns in the second and third quarters to take the lead. Darby’s Christian Humphrey had a safety for two points and then, in the fourth quarter, Smith hit Parks again for another TD. However, the conversion was not completed and the Tigers lost a close one.

“It was a good game,” said Darby coach Jeff Snavely. “Plains is a good team.”

The Stevensville Yellowjackets fell to Browning, 62-20, in Class A action on Friday night. Browning took an early lead with two touchdowns in the first quarter, first on a five-yard run by Dylan Loring and then a 36-yard pass from Derek Loring to Bran Bemmer. Stevensville halved the score in the second quarter when Alex Gavlak scored. The Yellowjackets scored again on a 22-yard run with Justin Saxon making the two-point conversion. The final ‘Jacket touchdown was by David Haacke on a 25-yard run.

The Victor Pirates lost a close game to the Mission Bulldogs on Saturday, 26-24. The game was back and forth with one team taking the lead and then the other. (No individual stats were reported.)
