State champs! June 13, 2017 by Editor On June 10–11, the Stevensville Sabres U-14 Boys’ Soccer Team captured the State U-14 Boys Soccer Title at the State Classic Soccer Tournament at Livingston, Montana. En route to victory, Stevensville U-14 Boys defeated Glendive 13–0, Mile City 8–1, Red Lodge 3–1 and Big Timber 7–1. Stevensville U-14 Boys’ Team has not surrendered a soccer match since April 15, 2017. Stevensville Boys’ U-14 Soccer Team was supported with three guest players, Emma Mortenson (Plains, MT), Zecharia Flandreau (Plains, MT) and Cooper Bailey, FCMissoula. Team members are: Colin Heidtman (Manager), Maddox Hilbert, Zecharia Flandreau, Emma Mortenson, Cooper Bailey, Oscher Fleck, Liam Heidtman, Adyan Porch, Thomas Hendrix, Arturo Arteaga, Ralph Serrette (Coach), Dahson Kleen (goalkeeper). Team members not included in team photo are: Jaden Tooke and Garet Bayer. The team endured two significant injuries this spring. Preston Davids fell to a severe broken arm and Mathew Radford succumbed to a season-ending leg injury. The Stevensville U-14 Boys’ Soccer Team received two invitations to participate in the State Olympic Development Program (ODP). Auturo Arteaga and Cooper Bailey were both invited to join the State U-13 Boys’ Olympic Development Team. The team’s next competition is the Palouse International Soccer Cup, Moscow, Idaho, August 5–6, 2017. Share this:
