The Lady Broncs put two more wins in the book with a 21-0 win over Corvallis on Thursday, and a 6-4 victory over Butte Central on Saturday, keeping their place at the top of the standings in the Southwest A. With Sky Lopez in the circle, pitching, for both games, the Lady Broncs methodically played their game and moved runners around the bases.
Rachael Ringer led the batting against Corvallis with a home run and a double. She went 2-for-4 with five RBIs. Caitlin Dillon went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and an RBI. Rachel Richardson also hit in three of four at bats. She had a double and three RBIs. Sophia Doyle went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs. Mallory McGill had two RBIs and Kelsie Meis and Tessa Della Silva each had an RBI. Corvallis’ Corinne Sanderson and Maria Hickey each had doubles.
Hamilton scored in the second inning to take the lead but Butte Central came right back and scored two runs to tie at the end of the third inning. Butte Central took the lead in the fifth inning but Hamilton rallied with three runs in the sixth for the win. Meis had a double and an RBI. Richardson had two RBIs as did Della Silva. Hayley Hudgins also had an RBI.
Stevensville gave Butte Central a run for their money on Friday night. Stevensville scored in every inning and was coming on strong in the seventh inning but fell short in the 16-14 loss. Sarah Morrison was the pitcher for Stevensville with Dani Trangmoe catching.
The Yellowjackets had three home runs. Mikayla Newman went 3-for-5 with a home run, and two RBIs. Haley Kampka had a home run and two RBIs also. Makayla Davids went 5-for-5 with a home run, a double, and four RBIs. Kaylee Berning and Maddie Paul each had two RBIs, and Trangmoe had an RBI.On Thursday, Stevensville slammed Dillon, 12-3. Morrison was the winning pitcher. Davids went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Kampka went 1-for-3 with three RBIs in the win. Stevensville improved to 8-5 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
Florence also put a couple more wins in the books. They topped Eureka, 15-4, with Shay Waldbillig pitching. Emily Kinnaman was the catcher for three innings and then she was relieved by Chloe Arthur. Natalie Dulac went 1-for-1 with a double and two RBIs. Arthur, Kali Leibenguth, Brooklyn Little and Destini Greer each had RBIs. The game ended in five innings due to the 10 run rule.
Florence blanked Libby, 8-0, in their second game of the weekend. Shannon Byrne took the win with Brianna Hoffman relieving her in the fifth inning. Dulac was the catcher. Arthur had a home run and went 1-for-3 at bat. She brought in two runners. Byrne hit a triple, and Hoffman had a double. She was 1-for-2 at bat. Kinnaman went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Little went 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
