Frenchtown was the site of the District 13C and 6B track meets on Friday and Saturday. The top six finishers in each event will advance to the divisional track meet at Frenchtown. From there, the top placers will advance to state with Class B in Butte and Class C in Laurel.
Florence had two winners in the boys events. Jethro Thorne won the 400 with a time of 53.10. He was second in the 200 with a time of 23.04, right behind Loyola’s Jacob Byrne who had a time of 23.00. Thorne also placed in the 100. He was third in that race.
Grady Venters finished first in the javelin with a throw of 143-10. Justin Jones finished second in the 3,200 with a time of 10:54.97. Jackson Duffey of Ronan won with 10:34.69. Jones was fifth in the 1,600. Trevor Lueck finished sixth in the 400. The 400 relay team finished with behind Deer Lodge, Loyola, Anaconda and Ronan. In the 1,600 relay, Florence finished in third behind Ronan and Loyola. Sean Rice was fourth in the high jump a jump of 5-6. Brandon Porter of Deer Lodge cleared the bar at 6-0 to win. Dawson Thrasher threw the discus 126-8 to finish second in that event. Chase Windmueller was sixth with a throw of 109-5.
Autumn Round won the high jump for Florence when she cleared 5-0. She was second in the triple jump with 34-8.5. Loyola’s Kenna Guenther won with 34-9. Anna Stiegler was sixth in that event with 31-9. Round finished third in the 400. Alexis Taulbee finished fourth in the 100 hurdles. She also finished fourth in the 300 hurdles. The 1,600 relay team finished behind Deer Lodge and Ronan. Shelbie McLinden was sixth in the javelin with a throw of 86-0.
In District 13C, the Darby boys finished in second place behind Seeley-Swan with 113 points. Seeley-Swan had 154 points. Victor was sixth with 47 points.
Darby’s Kye McCollaum continued his dominance in the hurdles. He won the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.62. His time of 41.97 was almost three seconds faster than second place in the 300 hurdles. McCollaum also won the 200 with a time of 24.04 and was second in the 400 with a time of 54.95. Evan Duggan won the 1,600 with a time of 4:42.93. He also won the 3,200 with a time of 10:34.99. Duggan placed third in the 800 with a time of 2:08.05. John Beckers won the javelin with a throw of 166-8. He also qualified in the 100 with a fifth place finish and in the discus with a throw of 113-8 which was good enough for second place, and he finished fourth in the high jump. Andy Smith was sixth in the triple jump, fifth in the high jump, fourth in the javelin, and sixth in the discus. Trevor Willhite finished third in the discus with a throw of 112-9.
Victor’s Jesse Pearson finished first in the triple jump with a leap of 38-7.5. Eli Rosen was second with 38-5. Rosen also finished second in the long jump with 19-1.25 behind Connor Doll of Clark Fork who had 19-4.5. Pearson was fourth with 18-2.75. Jack Powell finished third in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.69. He also finished fifth in the javelin. Colt Neville took sixth in the long jump with a leap of 17-4.25. The Pirate 400 relay team took second behind Seeley Swan.
In the girls’ team scoring, Darby also finished second behind Seeley-Swan. Victor finished in sixth place.
Gracie Lang was a triple winner. She took first in the 800 (2:36.77), the 1,600 (5:58.24), and the 3,200 (12:16.28.) Casey Ehmann won the 300 hurdles with a time of 50.26. She was second in the 100 hurdles, third in the 200, and second in the 400. Annie Rennaker finished second in the 800 (2:54.51), second in the 1,600 (6:56.10), and second in the 3,200 (14:29.27.)
Victor’s Payton Tillotson won the discus with a throw of 116-1, just under 18 feet farther than second place. She also took second in the shot put. Taylor Seppel was sixth in the shot put. Cassidy Buchanan finished fifth in the discus. Lizzy Ives was second in the long jump and fifth in the high jump.
