Fellowship Club
The Bitterroot Public Library’s Fellowship Club will be meeting on Thursday, April 13 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. to discuss the book “The Universe Has Your Back: Transform Fear to Faith” by Gabrielle Bernstein.
In this profoundly inspiring book, New York Times best-selling author Gabrielle Bernstein teaches readers how, through acceptance, surrender, and commitment to a continually evolving spiritual path, they can transform their fear into faith in order to live a harmonious life.
Her deeply personal stories and universal lessons provide a profound framework for releasing the blocks to what everyone most longs for: happiness, security, and clear direction. These lessons can help us relinquish the need to control in order to relax into a sense of certainty and freedom – to stop chasing life and truly live. By riding the swell of our energy and true power we are empowered to find strength when we are down, synchronicity and support when we are lost, safety in the face of uncertainty, and joy in what might otherwise be pain. Bernstein’s secrets revealed in this book can also lead us to our true purpose in life, which is to be love and spread love.
The Fellowship Club meets every second Thursday of the month in the West Meeting Room of the Bitterroot Public Library and is free and open to anyone seeking to promote individual and collective well being. Call 363-1670, or email jacostant@gmail.com for more information.

The Christian Veterans of the Bitterroot is a group made up of followers of Jesus Christ who have served in the military. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ and a veteran, then you have a place in this group. The motto is “give back with love,” and the group’s goal is to help fellow veterans, their families and the local community through prayer and work. They want all Christians, particularly veterans, to know that they are not alone and they and others are here to help them.
The group believes it is time for local Christians to stand up and show solidarity with fellow Christians here and around the world. The Christian Veterans of the Bitterroot is asking all Christians in the Bitterroot Valley to “March for Jesus Christ” on Holy Saturday, April 15. The march will start at 6:45 a.m. at the Set Free Christian Fellowship Church in Lolo and will proceed south along the U.S. Highway 93 pedestrian path to the Angler’s Roost Bridge south of Hamilton. Last year churches, organizations, families and individuals carried The Cross in three-mile increments from Hamilton to Lolo. Cross bearers are still needed for this year’s march.

Diabetes classes
To help older adults who want to get better control of their diabetes, Mountain-Pacific Quality Health, the Medicare Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) for Montana, Ag Worker Health & Services and the Montana Geriatric Education Center are partnering together to offer a
series of six, free diabetes classes. These classes provide fun, informative and interactive ways to help people with diabetes or pre-diabetes (high blood sugar)
- understand diabetes and how it affects the entire body;
- manage diabetes in a way that makes sense for them and their individual health goals;
- become more informed members of their health care teams, as they continue to work with their doctors, diabetes educators and other health care providers to improve their health.
The classes support, not replace, professional diabetes self management education. The classes are designed for people age 65 and older.
The series kicks off Monday, April 17, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Ag Worker Health and Services at 9801 Valley Grove Drive #D, which is about a half mile north of Lolo on Highway 93. Classes will then meet every Monday through May 22.
Older adults are at a higher risk for diabetes and pre-diabetes than younger Americans. In fact, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than one in every four
Americans over the age of 65 has diabetes, and with age comes greater risks for complications. Diabetes can lead to heart attacks, strokes, blindness, kidney disease, amputations and even death.
However, studies show it is never too late to make changes to improve a person’s health. Motivated adults ready to make lifestyle changes can slow the progression of diabetes and avoid or delay complications.
Anyone interested in attending theses classes can register by calling (406) 273-4633.
