Video series
“The Powers of the Universe,” a Brian Swimme video series, will be aired in April at the Center for Spiritual Living, 1720 S. First, Hamilton. Explore the universe and our relationship to it. “The Powers of the Universe” video series is a captivating exploration of the powers coursing through the universe and each of us. It is written and presented by Dr. Brian Swimme, an evolutionary cosmologist who is a professor at the California Institute of Integral Studies. His stimulating lectures focus on the role of the human within the earth community, the cultural implications of the Epic of Evolution, and the role of humanity in the unfolding story of earth and cosmos. Library Tea and Adult Coloring
Celebrate Spring’s arrival with the Adult Coloring group, Tea and Tranquility, at the North Valley Public Library! Bring your favorite mug to the Library for tea and treats on Thursday, April 6 from 6 to 7 p.m. Grab a chair and join in discussion with others, or grab some colored pencils and try your hand at an array of stress relieving coloring sheets. This month the group is celebrating Spring and there will be a number of Easter egg, flower, and rabbit themed coloring pages for everyone’s enjoyment. This event is free and open to the public. Come in and bring your friends and family to enjoy a tranquil time! Adults and children accompanied by adults are welcome to attend. St. Mary’s Mission volunteer meeting
Historic St. Mary’s Mission and Museum has volunteer opportunities in several areas and you are invited to a short meeting on Friday, April 7 at 10 a.m. at 315 Charlos Street, Stevensville. Volunteer positions include tour guides, gift shop clerks, grant writing, computer work, archival and Past Perfect data entry, cleaning duties, and flower bed gardening,
The 2017 season is from April 18 through October 14; Tuesday through Friday from 10 to 5 with two shifts from 10 to 1 and 1 to 5. Saturday has one shift from 11 to 3. Gift Shop and Tour Guide Volunteers generally choose one shift per week, while some people volunteer only once or twice a month. New volunteers receive one-on-one guidance until the person is ready to fill the position. Volunteer hours are flexible to meet your needs. You will meet interesting people from around the world. Friday Fish Fry
The Knights of Columbus Council 6130 of Hamilton will hold their final Lenten Friday Fish Fry on Friday, April 7 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at St. Francis Pastoral Center, 411 S. 5th, Hamilton. The all-you-can-eat meal consists of fish, fries, coleslaw, and mac & cheese, vegetables, dessert and soft beverage. The price for the meal is $8.00 per person; children under nine eat free so bring the kids! As a special offer a family of four or more (2 adults and children) will eat for $25.00. First Friday at library

Pancake breakfast
The Florence Volunteer Firefighters will provide a free all you can eat pancake breakfast on Saturday, April 8 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Fresh pancakes, eggs, bacon and sausage will be served at the Florence Fire station 1, 234 Holloway Lane in Florence (behind Town Pump). Come and enjoy this free breakfast!
Florence Trail Cleanup
Florence Trail Cleanup will be held Saturday, April 8. Meet at 10 a.m. at the Fire Department for a free pancake breakfast and then get to work. Gloves, vests and bags are provided. All private citizens or groups are welcome to help.
Beekeepers
Beekeepers of the Bitterroot will be holding its regular monthly meeting on Saturday, April 8 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Hamilton First Assembly of God at 601 W Main Street (entry in the rear). Bring a nonperishable item for their food bank in appreciation for the use of the space. Scott Debnam from UM will be the guest speaker. Scott is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about honey bees, and listening to him talk is fantastic. Be prepared to ask questions.

Learning Adventure Series
“Sprout House” is the topic of the Saturday Learning Adventure Series on April 8 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Ravalli County Museum, 205 Bedford, Hamilton. Kids can build a house that will sprout with sponges, paper, and seeds at this free kids’ activity. Call 363-3338 for more information.

Palm Sunday, April 9, 9 a.m. Procession with Psalms. Enter the church with palms in hands, singing praises to Christ, who offered Himself as the Lamb to be sacrificed for our sins.
Wednesday, April 12, 7 p.m. Vespers, The Passion of St. Luke.
Maundy Thursday, April 13, 7 p.m. Sacrament of the Altar. Celebrate the night when our Lord gave us His Supper, the same night He was betrayed. Extended preparation of public confession and absolution are also presented.
Good Friday, April 14, 7 p.m. Tenebrae Service of Darkness. Candles are extinguished one by one, darkening the sanctuary as we remember Christ hanging upon the Cross to save us.
Holy Saturday, April 15, Easter Vigil. In this ancient service handed down through the centuries a candle ceremony leading worshippers into the sanctuary and a Remembrance of Baptism prepare the congregation for the wonder and joy of God’s great gift revealed on Easter.

Mountain Goat Marathon reunion
A reunion is being planned for all who participated in the Mountain Goat Marathons and endurance hiking in the Bitterroot area over the past 30 years. “Mountain Goat” Mario Locatelli has scheduled the event for Sunday, April 9 at 12 noon at Lolo Steakhouse and he promises lots of food, music, stories and fun! Green Thumbs Up
Green Thumbs Up Garden Club will meet Monday, April 10 at 2 p.m. in the downstairs meeting room of the Bitterroot Public Library in Hamilton. The meeting is free and open to the public. Becky Lovejoy, local master gardener, will talk about “The Psychology of Landscaping.” Gardening can be more than just creating a pretty landscape, when it’s created with intention. RML Community Liaison Group
The Rocky Mountain Laboratories Community Liaison Group (RML CLG) is scheduled to meet on Monday, April 10. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. at the Golden Age Club, 727 S. 5th Street in Hamilton. Agenda items include updates of: Recent developments in antibiotic resistance and the status of RML construction projects. The public is invited to attend and participate in the meeting.
The RML CLG includes representatives from local government, education, business, medical and emergency services, and community and civic groups. The RML CLG represents a long-term commitment to structured interactions with the community. The group began meeting in 2002.

The Stevensville School Board of Trustees will hold a regular board meeting on Tuesday, April 11 at 7 p.m. in the Stevensville Music Center Choir Room.
April Events at Darby Library
The Cowboy Poetry and Western Music Roundup, one of the Darby Library’s most popular annual events, returns Tuesday, April 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. The event will feature the talents of Doug Hogan, Verna Molenda, Bob Weber, Wil Wilkins, Tim Huls and Dominic “Flominic” Farrenkopf. Admission is free. Seating is limited.
Another popular Library event, the Community Easter Egg Hunt, will be Saturday, April 15 at 11 a.m. at Tin Cup Park. Kids ages 2 through 7 are welcome and should bring their baskets. Donations of hard-boiled eggs may be dropped off at the park at 10 a.m.
The Library will commemorate National Poetry Month with a poetry contest for kids and poetry display for adults all month long. Kids can win cash prizes for their poetry.
More events for kids are: Preschool Grocery and Restaurant Play Center on Friday, April 14 and Saturday, April 15, and Children’s Story Time every Tuesday at 11 a.m. The second Tuesday will feature Stay and Play after story time with the Grocery and Restaurant Play Center.
