Water exhibit
A free Family Science Night will be held Thursday, March 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Daly Elementary School for “Water,” the University of Montana spectrUM Discovery Area’s newest traveling exhibition. Created with researchers from the Montana Institute on Ecosystems, “Water” features interactive exhibits and hands-on activities exploring ecosystems science. Highlights of the exhibition include a virtual watershed sandbox, a groundwater model and spectrUM’s popular erosion table. During the school days of March 27-31, students from Daly Elementary will participate in guided field trips to the “Water” exhibition. Stevensville HS drama production
Stevensville High School presents William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 2 at 2 p.m. at the Stevensville Playhouse. Helena loves Demetrius, but he loves Hermia (who happens to be in love with Lysander). When they flee into the woods and encounter the mischievous sprite Puck, both the fairy realm and the four young lovers find their worlds are suddenly turned upside down! Featuring a talented cast and crew, this classic comedy will be great fun for the whole family. Cost is $5 for a student, $6 for an adult, and $20 for a family of four. Learning Adventure Series
“Newton’s Cradle” is the topic of the Saturday Learning Adventure Series on April 1 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Ravalli County Museum, 205 Bedford, Hamilton. Kids can build a Newton’s Cradle for themselves at this free kids’ activity. Call 363-3338 for more information.
Welcome Back Waterfowl Day
Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge, in partnership with Bitterroot Audubon, will host Welcome Back Waterfowl Day on Saturday, April 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Visitor Center and along Wildfowl Lane. This special event is open to the public and the primary focus will be viewing all manner of birds using Refuge wetlands.
Bitterroot Audubon members and Refuge staff will have high quality optical equipment on the County Road to assist in identifying (informal duck identification workshop will continually be “looping” to assist beginning birders) and observing some 19 species of waterfowl present. At the same time and location, Judy Hoy of Bitterroot Audubon will do on-demand programs with her rehabilitated raptors, a Long-eared Owl and Northern Saw-whet Owl. A new feature will be a photo contest for the best action shot of people wildlife watching during this event. There will be two categories, children 12 and under and all ages older than 12. The best three photos in each category will be posted on the Bitterroot Audubon Society Website and on Facebook. The winner of each category will be given a Winter Eagle Project T-shirt.

Saturday Bingo
Hamilton Senior Center will be hosting a Special Saturday Bingo on April 1. Doors open at 12 noon, games start at 1 p.m. Paper cards will be used. Free refreshments. Must be 18 to play. Call Cathy at 375-9276 for information.
4-H Carnival
It’s no joke! The 4-H Community Carnival is Saturday, April 1 at Ravalli County Fairgrounds Events Center from 4 to 7 p.m. Over 20 game booths, food, silent auction, door prizes and fun for everyone! Tickets for games and food can be purchased from 4-H members, the Extension office, 375-6611, or at the door. Admission is free! Proceeds support Ravalli County 4-H programs.
Square Dance Club
Boots & Calico Square Dance Club will have Ray Dunbar calling a dance on Saturday, April 1st…no foolin’! Round dance music will be provided by Don Scheline. Ray will call Plus level at 7 p.m., followed by Mainstream dancing from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The club dances at the Golden Age Center, 5th & Baker Streets, Hamilton. The following Saturday, April 8, club members will be attending the Spring Fling at the Lolo Dance Center from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

Bitterrootdalen Lodge, Sons of Norway, will meet Tuesday, April 4 at 5:30 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 275 Hattie in Hamilton. Fly Fishers of the Bitterroot
The monthly meeting of FFB will be Tuesday, April 4, at BJ’s Restaurant in Hamilton. Social hour is at 6 p.m. with cocktails/dinner optional. The meeting is at 7 p.m. Tony Tomsu will be the guest speaker. Tony and his wife, Kathi, started River Road Creations Inc. in 1998 and have grown this company into the world’s largest manufacturer of wing and foam body cutters. Tony’s flies have been featured in Fly Fisherman, Fly Tyer, Northwest Fly Fishing and Canadian Fly Fisher Magazines. His presentation will be on foam flies and his newly released book, “Creations from the River Road: Practical Realism for Tying and Fishing Foam Trout Flies. Library Tea and Adult Coloring
Celebrate Spring’s arrival with the Adult Coloring group, Tea and Tranquility, at the North Valley Public Library! Bring your favorite mug to the Library for tea and treats on Thursday, April 6 from 6 to 7 p.m. Grab a chair and join in discussion with others, or grab some colored pencils and try your hand at an array of stress relieving coloring sheets. This month the group is celebrating Spring and there will be a number of Easter egg, flower, and rabbit themed coloring pages for everyone’s enjoyment. This event is free and open to the public. The 2017 season is from April 18 through October 14; Tuesday through Friday from 10 to 5 with two shifts from 10 to 1 and 1 to 5. Saturday has one shift from 11 to 3. Gift Shop and Tour Guide Volunteers generally choose one shift per week, while some people volunteer only once or twice a month. New volunteers receive one-on-one guidance until the person is ready to fill the position. Volunteer hours are flexible to meet your needs. You will meet interesting people from around the world.
