BRHA annual meeting
The Bitter Root Humane Association Annual Meeting will be held Wednesday, March 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bitterroot Valley Board Of Realtors office, 224 N. Fourth Street (corner of 4th and Cherry Streets), Hamilton. Election of board members will be held and annual reports will be given by officers and committee chairs. A presentation will be made by Linda Looser of New Horizons Physical Therapy regarding treatment and recovery of one of the very special resident dogs. According to BRHA bylaws, “To be eligible to vote at the annual membership meeting, dues must have been paid by 5 p.m. the day prior to the meeting date. Voting by proxy shall not be permitted; however, an absentee ballot will be made available to any member requesting one. Victor Park District
The next meeting of the Victor Park District will be on Thursday, March 23 at 7 p.m. at the Farmers State Bank in Victor. Driver safety class
An AARP Driver Safety Class will be presented at Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital, located at 1200 Westwood Drive in Hamilton on Friday, March 24. The class will begin at 9 a.m. and last approximately four hours. While this safe driving strategies class is designed for drivers age 50 and over, all drivers are welcome. The class fee is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. There are no written exams or driving tests, and Montana mandates an insurance discount for qualified graduates. K of C Fish Fry
The Knights of Columbus Council 6130 will hold a Lenten Friday Fish Fry on March 24 from 5 to 6:45 p.m. at St. Francis Pastoral Center, 411 S. 5th, Hamilton. This is an excellent opportunity to get out of the house and let someone else do the cooking for you. The all-you-can-eat meal consists of fish, fries, coleslaw, and mac ‘n cheese, vegetables, dessert and soft beverage. The price is $8.00 per person, children under nine eat free. As a special offer a family of 4 or more (2 adults and children) will eat for $25.00. Wine can be purchased separately. Musical evening at museum
“FARM: Farm and Ranch Musical” will be held Friday, March 24 at 6 p.m. at the Ravalli County Museum, 205 Bedford, Hamilton. Attend this celebration of Agriculture through the ages that pays tribute to all who make their living off the land. BBCH DH Obstacle Clinic
Bitterroot Back Country Horsemen invites the public to their second free horsemanship clinic of the year on Saturday, March 25. Using members’ stock for demonstration, participants will learn how to navigate obstacles, solve problems that arise, and perform various trail challenges. Members of the public are encouraged to attend and learn more about how to safely handle their stock while trail riding. The event takes place at the C-Max Stables, 657 Bass Lane, Corvallis. Two identical sessions are offered from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 to 4 p.m. Bring your own chair in case the weather is bad and the indoor arena is used. Guest speakers will be Chris Clancy, FWP fisheries biologist giving a short presentation regarding a proposed fish removal project in the Upper Overwhich Creek (upstream of Painted Rocks Reservoir), and Rob Domenech from the MPG Ranch. Rob will give a presentation on the ranch’s on-going Bald & Golden Eagle study program that started in 2011. This presentation will include migration information on the 75 Golden and 20 Bald eagles that have been captured, marked and released. Meetings are open to the public.
