The Darby boys lost out to Lincoln, 60-50, in a challenge game for District 13C on Monday night, after losing to Valley Christian in the District 13C championship game on Saturday. The fact that Darby played in that game is notable. It’s believed that the last time they played in the championship was in the early 1990’s. Darby lost to Valley Christian, 81-56. That set up a challenge game between Lincoln and Darby. Lincoln now advances to the Western B Divisional in Butte this weekend.
The Valley Christian team was too much for Darby to handle on Saturday night and led throughout the game. Darby’s Zach McCrossin scored 24 points in the game with Zach Kline dropping in 11 more. But they could not contain Mason Woods who had 24 points and Zach Baugher who finished with 26 points.

Darby opened their tournament play against Victor on Thursday in Frenchtown. The Tigers jumped out to an early lead and built upon that lead. Victor, who has struggled since losing Colt Neville to an injury early in the season, could not find an answer to either McCrossin who finished with 29 points, or Dylan Parks who finished with 16 points. Darby went on to win, 76-41.

Darby advanced to the semi finals where they met up with Seeley-Swan. Seeley came into the tournament as the No. 2 seed but the Blackhawks were not able to keep up with Darby. The Tigers took the lead early and went on to win, 53-42. McCrossin had 21 points and Parks added 15 more.

In Monday’s challenge game for District 13C on Monday night. Lincoln took a 12 point lead into the half, going on to win, 60-50. Darby was led by Zach McCrossin’s 15 points. Other Darby scorers were: Dylan Parks 13, Zach Kline 10, John Beckers 8, Aaron Hansen 4.
Darby finished with a record of 12 wins and 10 losses.
Victor lost to Lincoln in loser out action on Friday morning, 68-25. Sophomore Mason Agee had 19 points for Victor.
