Any time Corvallis and Stevensville meet on the hardwood, it’s going to be a good game. The game on Thursday in Stevensville was no different. The two teams were scrappy and battled with Stevensville taking the lead at the quarter. Stevensville played tough defense inside and forced Corvallis to go to the outside shoot, which they made. However Corvallis’ Justin Catanach went down with an injury and things weren’t looking good for the Blue Devils. By the end of the half, Stevensville was up by four points. The trend continued in the third quarter with Stevensville in the lead. Every time Corvallis made a run, Stevensville answered.
But fouls were beginning to be a problem for both teams.  Corvallis pulled within two points when Kobe Jessop hit a basket, but Jarod Kingsbury hit two free throws to put Stevensville up by three points. Garret Brown hit another Blue Devil bucket to bring them within one point again with two minutes remaining in the game. Corvallis’ Ridge Albright hit a long trey to give them the lead and a free throw shot by Tylor Nixon put the Blue Devils up by three points and gave the Blue Devils the 46-43 win. Albright had 12 points to lead Corvallis. Stevensville was led by Chayse Richards who had 12 points.
