Stevensville – Charles F. “Chuck” Spindler passed away February 18, 2017 at his home in Stevensville with family at his side.
He was born July 26, 1935 in Kalispell, MT to Clinton F. and Della M. Spindler. He grew up in Kalispell where he graduated from Flathead High School. He loved hunting and fishing and could always tell a tall tale of his adventures. Chuck enjoyed many hours at the Forest Service Lookout towers during summer and working on their farm. After graduating from high school in 1953 he went into the Marine Corps where he was honorably discharged after eight years. After the Marine Corps he received an apprenticeship in construction in California. Finally he moved to Washington State where he met his longtime partner and wife, Jerilyn “Jeri”, of 38 years. Together they formed C & J Construction until his retirement in 1995. His long time wish was to retire to Montana where they settled in Stevensville.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clinton and Della Spindler and a brother, Clinton 0. Spindler. He leaves behind his wife Jerilyn, four children: Steven (Linda) of Roseville, CA, Kathryn Darrah of Las Vegas, NV, Lynn (Mike) Sherman of Deer Park, WA, and Curtis (Susie) Spindler of Missoula, MT; stepchildren Teresa (Kevin) West of Tacoma, WA and Greg (Dana) Rose of Orting, WA. He leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, a brother Andrew (Patty) Spindler of California and a sister Mary (Dick) Rousselle of Montana.
Chuck joined the Masonic Lodge on November 2, 1983 where he went on to become a 33rd Degree Mason. He was actively involved in all bodies of the Masonic organization including York Rite, Scottish Rite and the Shriners. He was most proud of helping to organize the Scottish Rite Speech Therapy Clinic in Missoula, MT.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Masonic Lodge, 300 Church Street, Stevensville, MT. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.whitesittfuneralhome.com.
