RCEDA

Ravalli County Economic Development Authority will hold its regular monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners on Wednesday, January 18 from 3 to 5 p.m. Both meetings will be held at the RCEDA office, 274 Old Corvallis Road, Hamilton. These meetings are open to the public.

 

Daly Mansion Preservation Trust

The Daly Mansion Preservation Trust will hold its Annual Board Meeting on Wednesday, January 18 at 5 p.m. at the Mansion. The public is welcome. For information call 363-6004 4#.

 

Farm Business Workshops

A winter workshop series in Corvallis is designed for beginning farmers and ranchers interested in starting a new business or adding a new enterprise. Planning For On-Farm Success offers expert presenters from the Montana University System, and panels of experienced producers and ag professionals to help participants understand and develop the tools they need to launch a successful new enterprise.

The workshops, hosted by MSU Extension in partnership with the Community Food & Agriculture Coalition, will be offered Wednesdays, January 18 through March 1, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the following topics:

Jan. 18: Farm Strategic Planning

Jan. 25: Researching Your Market

Feb. 1: Farm Marketing & Promotion

Feb. 8: Managing Your Financials

Feb. 15: Financial Decision-Making

Feb. 22: Financing Your Farm

Mar. 1: Managing On-Farm Risks

Participants will learn about local resources, network with local producers and service providers and get hands-on support working on their own business plans. Workshops cost $15 each or $75 for the full seven-part series. Full series registration includes a copy of the Planning for On-Farm Success workbook. Workshops will be held at the Western Agricultural Research Center at 580 Quast Lane, Corvallis. Corvallis School Board Work Session

The Corvallis School Board Negotiating Committee will hold a work session on Thursday, January 19 at 4 p.m. in the Mini Theater and Room #7.

 

Back Country Horsemen

Bitter Root Back Country Horsemen host their monthly meeting on Thursday, January 19, at the Corvallis School Cafeteria on Eastside Highway in Corvallis. Potluck dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. and the general meeting starts at 7 p.m. If you are a rider or hiker who wants to help keep trails open and meet like-minded folks, you’re invite to attend. Program speaker Eric Hoover of the local Office of Emergency Management will present information on the Community Animal Response/ Rescue Plan currently being formed in Ravalli County. Self-help talk

“Finding Rest, Renewal & Delight in Your Busy Life” will be presented by Becky Lovejoy on Friday, January 20 at 12 noon at O’Hara Commons & Sustainability Center, 111 S. 4th Street, Hamilton. Lovejoy will talk about discovering the healing power of rest and becoming empowered to make new choices that honor rest as a nourishing and essential companion to your work and home life. “Healing the Spirit with Song” will be presented by Laura “Kat” Hawkins, a UM Music-Voice Graduate and 4th Year Graduate of Science of Mind New York City, on Sunday, January 22 at 10 a.m. at the Center for Spiritual Living, 1720 N. 1st Street, Suite C in Selway Commons, north of Sears in Hamilton. Laura will share her methods of processing and healing with songs. Rotary Club
Hamilton Rotary Club meetings in January are focusing on historical events in the Bitterroot. Tamar Stanley, Director of the Ravalli County Museum, will be speaking at the next meeting of the Hamilton Rotary Club on Monday, January 23 at 12 noon at BJ’s Restaurant, 900 N. 1st Street, Hamilton. Drum Circle
African Drum Circle will take place Monday, January 23 (2nd and 4th Mondays) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at The Center for Spiritual Living, 1720 N. 1st Street (north of Sears), Hamilton. Fish & Wildlife Assn

The general meeting of the Ravalli County Fish & Wildlife Association will be on Monday, January 23 at 7 p.m. at the Daly Leach meeting room, 1010 W. Main, Hamilton. Guest speaker will be Jay Kolbe from FWP. Jay will give an update on the mountain lion plan that is currently being drafted. Meetings are open to the public. Republican Women’s Club

Ravalli County Republican Women’s Club will hold its monthly meeting and lunch on Tuesday, January 24 (fourth Tuesday) at 11:30 a.m. at BJ’s Restaurant in Hamilton. Installation of 2017 Officers will take place. Guest speaker will be the new Sheriff, Steve Holton.

 

Thursday, January 26

 

RASS training
Western MT Addiction Services will be holding a Responsible Alcohol Sales and Service training on Thursday, January 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at 209 N. 10th, Suite C in Hamilton. The cost of the training is $15 for materials. The “Let’s Control It” curriculum is approved as a state-mandated RASS training by the MT Dept of Revenue and participants will receive a certificate of completion.
