The Blue Devils and Lady Broncs met up on Friday in Hamilton. Although Corvallis jumped out to an early lead but the young Hamilton team never gave up. Powered by Corinne Sanderson’s’ two treys in the first quarter, the Blue Devils took an early lead but had to keep pushing to earn the 57-56 win. Sanderson finished with a game high18 points including four treys in the first half.
Hamilton took the lead midway through the second quarter when Mallory McGill hit a long shot but Sanderson was there with one of her three point shots to take the lead back. Corvallis led by five at the half. In the third quarter, Calla Haldorson went to work for the Blue Devils and scored 12 of her 16 points. By the end of the quarter, Corvallis led by nine points. However Hamilton was not done. Tessa DellaSilva hit a bucket and then Lauren Ryter and Rachel Ringer created problems inside for the Blue Devils. McGill hit a trey and then Reilly Rostad hit a bucket for two more and Hamilton trailed by only two points. Sanderson sunk another but then Kara Nye hit her only basket of the night to close the gap to only one point again. The duel between Rostad and Haldorson heated up with both going to the foul line. However Haldorson fouled out with less than 30 seconds remaining. Emme Warnken sank two charity shots for Corvallis to pad the lead a little. But then, with 9 seconds remaining, Penny Jessop picked up her fifth foul and sent Tristy Searle to the line where she sank both shots. There was 2.2 seconds left. Sanderson threw a long pass to Warnken as time ran out.

The Lady Broncs traveled to Polson on Saturday for a match against the Lady Pirates. Hamilton came out strongly and quickly built a lead. They held Polson to only 13 points in the first half and went on to win, 55-33. McGill had 16 points to pace Hamilton.

Stevensville dropped a couple of games, one a non-conference to Big Sky, and the second, a conference game to Butte Central. The Lady Yellowjackets stayed with Big Sky for a quarter before the Lady Eagles pulled ahead and went on to win, 50-37. Megan Pendergast led Stevensville with 13 points.

Stevensville was unable to overcome a strong first quarter by Butte Central. The Maroons defeated Stevi, 68-36. Davids and Richards led the team with nine points each.

Florence took on rival Loyola on Thursday. The Lady Falcons were tied at the half at 17 all. After a cold first half, Florence settled down and played their style of defense which, in turn, powered their offense. They outscored the Breakers by 12 points in the third quarter and went on to win, 51-36.

Victor fell to Drummond on Thursday night, 44-13. Although Drummond only had a four-point lead at the half, the Lady Pirates were unable to score much in the second half. Jamie Burdett had seven points for Victor.
Darby topped Victor, 51-27, on Saturday. Burdett had 11 points and Madison Allred added 10 for Victor. Casey Ehmann had 15 points for Darby and Makenzie Smith added 14.
