I would like to remind readers that November 11, 2016, is Veterans Day. This is the annual opportunity for members of our society to thank those who have served in our military services. As you will see mentioned in this issue, there are a number of activities being held in and around Stevensville. You should also note an ad placed by American Legion Fort Owen Post 94 inviting veterans and their families to come out to our Post Home on Middle Burnt Fork Road for our annual Veterans Day potluck dinner. This is an opportunity to participate in honoring veterans and also an opportunity to find out more about the American Legion and our youth programs. Two members, John and Paul Rodrigues, of Boy Scout Troop 1117, the troop sponsored by Post #94, will be playing “America the Beautiful” on their bugles during the posting of the colors. Students who were candidates at Boys State and Girls State will also be reporting on their experiences.
