The Hamilton boys’ soccer team is very young, according to coach Randy Lint. With their inexperience and first game jitters, as well as playing a couple of the toughest programs in Class A, Lint knew it was going to be a tough weekend for his team. Both Livingston and Belgrade have been in the playoffs for the last few years and are experienced teams. Hamilton’s Will Lauden scored one goal against Livingston on Friday but it wasn’t enough. Livingston won, 4-1. Belgrade blanked the Broncs, 9-0, on Saturday.
Last October, Belgrade came to Corvallis for the Class A state championship match and Corvallis took that match, and the championship, 3-1. On Friday, in Belgrade, it was Corvallis once again the victor, with a 3-1 win over the Panthers. This was the first game for Kevin Hagen, the new coach of Corvallis. Corvallis defeated Belgrade, 3-1. Emmett Semple took a Caden Ayers assist at 23 minutes to score their first goal. Corvallis cored twice in the second half. Ayers booted the ball to Alec Sangster who found the net at 45 minutes, and it was Ayers who scored again just three minutes later. Belgrade’s only score came at the 78-minute mark. Justin Catanach had 12 saves for the Blue Devils.
Corvallis defeated Livingston, 5-0, on Saturday. The Blue Devils scored four times in the first half. Ayers booted in a penalty kick at seven minutes. He also took a Kolton Mahan assist and converted it at the 34-minute mark. Semple took an assist from Bryce Molesh at 10 minutes and scored. He also scored the last goal at 78 minutes when Catanach sent him the ball. Mahan scored at 13 minutes off an assist by Semple. Corvallis took six shots on goal and Catanach had five saves.
Belgrade stopped Corvallis, 5-1. The Belgrade Panthers’ defense kept the Corvallis girls on their own end of the field for much of the match in Belgrade. Maria Hickey took an assist from Kenley Fields at the 30 minutes mark to score the only Blue Devil goal. Corvallis only took four shots on goal. Ashlynn Nixon had 16 saves for Corvallis.

The Hamilton girls’ soccer team topped Livingston, 8-0. Olivia Zepeda scored three goals and had two assists in the win. She found Elise Striebel open at the four minute mark and Striebel made the goal. Zepeda and Striebel reversed roles just nine minutes later with Zepeda making the goal. Zepeda scored again at the 44 minute mark and at 60 minutes. She got the ball to Ashlee Searle for the final Bronc goal at 68 minutes. Searle took a Rylee Wediger assist and converted at 33 minutes.
