The Bitterroot Sparks 14U fastpitch softball team ended the 2016 season showing the Western United States what Montana softball is all about. The season began in June with a 1st place finish at the Garden City Walk Off. Then it was off to the Tri Cities for the USA Preps College Showcase where the Sparks went 5-0 to claim another first place finish. The following weekend found the girls at the Valley Invitational College Showcase in Portland, OR where they tied for 5th place against the best of the Northwest. The weekend of July 8-10 found the Sparks back in Montana for the State Championship tournament. The team went undefeated and hoisted the State Championship trophy. Following the State Tournament, the Sparks played in the Triple Crown World Series and placed in the middle of the pack. From there, they headed south for the ASA/USA Western Nationals in Orange County, California. The team claimed the 4th place trophy (out of 52 teams) with a record of 6-2.
