John Bartos, CEO of Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital, gave the Darby Town Council an update last week about the hospital’s plans to open a Rural Health Clinic in Darby. According to Bartos, the hospital is leasing and renovating a building on the north end of town and plans to open a primary care clinic in August.
“We have hired a primary care provider who will work four days a week initially and as patient load picks up, we will increase it to a five day a week clinic,” said Bartos. He said the new clinic will have a full 911 crew and ambulance service as well as an x-ray machine. The hospital is also working with the Board of Pharmacy and hopes to offer pharmaceutical services as well.
“The reception from the Town Council was very positive,” said Bartos.
