There were a limited number of basketball games on January 2, 2016. Most schools were still on break but Hamilton and Darby had games.
The Darby girls and boys traveled to Valley Christian for their games. The Lady Tigers clobbered the Lady Eagles, 55-18. Breanna Brickey dropped in 15 points and Casey Ehmann had 11 points. Tough defense by the Lady Tigers limited the scoring for Valley Christian.

The Darby Tigers found themselves on the losing end against the Eagles. The Tigers only scored eight points in the first half. Valley Christian went on to win, 72-36. Zach McCrossin had 15 points to lead Darby.

The Lady Broncs of Hamilton went to Butte Central while the Broncs were hosts to the Maroons here in Hamilton.
The Broncs topped Butte Central in overtime, 57-53. Butte Central held a four point lead at the end of the first quarter but then Hamilton’s defense went to work, limiting the Maroons to only two points while scoring 16. Butte Central held Hamilton in check in the third quarter and then tied the game at 48 at the end of regulation play. Hamilton’s Josh Heath had 16 points. Freshman Hunter Omlid added 14 and Carter Kearns had 13 in the win.

The Hamilton Lady Broncs ran into a tough Butte Central team. The two teams have been neck-and-neck for the last couple of years and this match was no different. However Butte Central pulled away and took the 47-38 win. Reilly Rostad had 11 points to lead Hamilton.
