Share Tree tags available
The Stevensville Christmas Share Tree program is now collecting new coats, hats, mittens and snow boots for children. The Share Tree now has tags available for adoption. Each tag represents a child in need of warm clothing and a toy for Christmas. If you are interested in “adopting” a tag, they are available at Farmers State Bank, Rocky Mountain Bank, TrailWest Bank (inside Super 1), Missoula Federal Credit Union and local churches. Display items wanted
A Montana Country Christmas will be held on December 4, 5 and 6 at Historic St. Mary’s Mission and Museum. The special display this year will be Christmas Villages and Rosaries. Bring your items for the new exhibit on November 18 or 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or call 777-5734 to set-up a delivery date. Help make this a special Christmas exhibit.
Calendar sale
The 2016 Anniversary Calendar commemorating the 175th Anniversary of St. Mary’s Mission and Stevensville is beautifully illustrated by Stevensville artist Ella Buckallew. Her paintings capture 14 historic buildings in the community. Significant dates of local history are noted for each month. This calendar will likely become a collector’s item and makes a great Christmas gift. The calendars are for sale at St. Mary’s Mission Gift Shop or call 777-5734. All proceeds will support the preservation efforts at Historic St. Mary’s Mission and Museum.
Pumpkin pie benefit

Model trains
The Bitterroot Valley Model Railroad (BVMRR) Club will not be running trains on Saturday, November 21. They will be operating model trains at their layout site from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday from Nov. 28 through Dec. 19. Look for their Christmas display in the window of Starrett Artists on Main Street in Stevensville later this month.
Addresses requested
American Legion Unit 94 is requesting addresses for those serving overseas from family and friends so that they may send Troop Boxes throughout the year. Contact Carol at 406-529-9908.
Open prayer meetings
Open prayer meetings are held every Saturday evening at the Stevensville Seventh-day Adventist Church, corner of Pine Hollow and Baldwin Roads. All who are in need of prayer are invited. RASS training
Western MT Addiction Services will be holding a Responsible Alcohol Sales and Service training on Thursday, November 19 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at 209 N. 10th, Suite C, in Hamilton. The cost of the training is $15 for materials. The “Let’s Control It” curriculum is approved as a state-mandated RASS training by the MT Dept of Revenue and participants will receive a certificate of completion. Back Country Horsemen
Bitter Root Back Country Horsemen host their monthly meeting on Thursday, November 19, at the Corvallis School Cafeteria on Eastside Highway in Corvallis. Smart driver class
The newly designed Smart Driver Safety Course is being offered on Friday, November 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital in Hamilton. The four-hour course will emphasize how driving has changed, new vehicle technologies, safe driving practices and skills, recognizing the importance and benefits of assessing driving skills, and safe driving actions. The state of Montana mandates discounts for qualified drivers. There are no tests or exams to complete. The course is sponsored by AARP and the cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-AARP members. Call 363-6583 to make a reservation; space is limited.
Library book sale
The Big Holiday Book Sale will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 20-22, at the Community Room of the North Valley Public Library, Main Street, Stevensville. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. In addition to a huge variety of authors and all types of books from mysteries to histories, there will be delightful handmade Christmas ornaments for sale. Light refreshments will be served. A very good way to spend a few hours on a wintry day. Come see for yourself.
North Valley Pachyderm Club
The North Valley Pachyderm Club will meet Friday, November 20 at 12 noon at The Frontier Café, Hwy 93 in Stevensville. Guest speaker will be Katie Scholl, Forensic Nurse Specialist, who will be speaking about “What are Your Rights in Healthcare?” Know your rights and protect yourself and loved ones within the health care system. This will also be the Thanksgiving lunch. The North Valley Pachyderm Club is an educational arm of the Republican Party. All are welcome.
Arts Guild show
The 45th Bitterroot Arts Guild Christmas Show will be held Friday, November 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, November 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the First Interstate Building on the Hamilton Fairgrounds. There will be lots of art and crafts for your holiday giving. Hot food will be available. Canned goods will be collected for the Darby food bank. Proceeds go to the scholarship fund for local students.

Festival of Wreaths Gala
Plan to join the Bitter Root Humane Association for an evening of holiday fun and festivities at the beautiful, historic Daly Mansion. The Festival of Wreaths fundraising event will be held on Saturday, November 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. Party goers will experience the “taste, sights and sounds” of the Bitterroot with delicious appetizers and decadent desserts, and a no-host bar. Tour the mansion in all its Christmas décor and splendor with Mansion docents there to answer questions. Shop in the gallery of everlasting and fresh wreaths which have been created and decorated by area businesses and artists. Among these will be several select wreaths which will be sold in silent bidding, with the highest bidder as the winner. Individually priced decorated fresh wreaths, swags, and antique tree ornaments will be available as well as a raffle of gift baskets. New this year will be 10 perfectly and imaginatively decorated centerpieces to adorn you holiday table. These all make the perfect treat for yourself to start the holidays or will surely round out your gift giving list!

Boots ‘n’ Calico Square Dance Club will hold a dance on Saturday, November 21 at the Golden Age Hall, 727 S. 5th Street in Hamilton. Ray Dunbar will do the calling. Ham Radio Class begins Monday, November 23 at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church on Cooper Lane in Hamilton. The free classes are open to the public, no experience required. The Bitterroot Amateur Radio Club is a group of local Ham Radio operators who get together to promote Ham Radio in the Valley. As part of their mission to further the hobby, the club has put together a series of free classes that are open to the public. These classes are meant to help prepare you to take your FCC exam and earn your first level of Ham Radio License. Anyone, any age and with any background is welcome to attend the class. Last Month Tonight

UFO, ET discussion

DVDs from the International UFO Congresses will be shown and Joan Bird, author of “Montana UFOs and Extraterrestrials,” will be at will one of the events.
