The Stevensville Yellowjackets celebrated their four seniors on Friday night but unfortunately; they had to play one of the top teams in the state, Dillon. John Diepstraten had the lone touchdown for Stevensville, a 15-yard race to the end zone, in the 41-6 loss.
Florence lost a close, low-scoring game to Anaconda in Anaconda. Neither team scored in the first half but then Ethan Stensrud brought down a 31-yard pass from Braxton McCullough and found the goal line to put Florence on the board. However Anaconda came back and scored twice, once in the third quarter and again in the final quarter to take the 12-6 win.
Hamilton lost to Butte Central, 42-19. Hamilton scored twice in the second quarter. Bridger Bauder caught a 70-yard pass from Bret Huxtable for the first score and then Alex Draper had a three-yard run later in the quarter. But the Maroons scored three times to take the lead. Hamilton scored once more on a 29-yard pass from Huxtable to Josh Triplett. Although still in the playoffs, Hamilton will have a lower seed now.
Corvallis ran over Livingston, 61-6, in non-conference action on Friday. Wyatt Haldorson had another stellar night and finished with five touchdowns. He had scoring runs of five yards, three yards, 95 yards, 49 yards and 20 yards. Dillon Lewis caught a 12-yard pass from Jessop. Danner Miller had two scoring receptions, one from 35 yards out and the second from 49 yards out. Connor Albright had the final touchdown of the night, a 16-yard romp.
Victor welcomed Plains, a newcomer to the Western C division this season, with a 56-22 win. The Pirates mixed it up between their air game and the ground game with Steven Scheffer at command. Scheffer had the first Pirate touchdown with a 19-yard scoring run. He then hit Colt Neville from 50 yards out for another TD. Jesse Pearson was Scheffer’s next target, from 40 yards out. Scheffer then found Logan McKinley from 43 yards out for another Pirate touchdown. Scheffer connected with Neville one more time, from22 yards out for the score. On the ground, Dallas Baines pushed five yards for a score and Jack Powell had a 4-yard run. Powell had the final Pirate touchdown, this time from 8 yards out.
