The Corvallis Blue Devils lost some height with the graduation of 6’2” Jane Booth but that didn’t seem to matter in the match against Frenchtown. Genesis Keith, at 5’11, Olivia Smart at 5’8”, and Hannah Capko a 5’10, proved they were going to be just as tough in the 3-0 win over Frenchtown on Saturday afternoon. Capko knocked down 10 kills, while Smart had four of Corvallis’ seven blocks. Katie Hurlbert had eight digs and Taia Tully knocked in eight aces. The Blue Devils won, 25-11, 25-13, and 25-9 over the Lady Broncs.
Hamilton flexed their muscle as well, with a 3-0 win over Dillon in Dillon. Shannon Casale led the Lady Broncs in kills, had three of their six blocks, and two aces. Kloie Nye had 13 digs and Caitlyn Dillon finished with 26 assists. Hamilton won, 25-13, 25-19, 25-19.
Stevensville lost to Polson in three, 25-10, 25-14, 25-22. Mariah Hinson had eight kills and two blocks. Abby Austin dug up 17 serves and Rylee McCoy had 22 assists.
Florence powered over Thompson Falls, 25-15, 25-11, 25-18 behind the play of Sabrina Hopcroft. She led the Lady Falcons in kills and aces but no further information was available.
Darby easily defeated Lincoln in three games, 25-9, 25-14, 25-12. Darby does not report individual stats but the Lady Tigers finished with 24 kills, three blocks, and 16 aces.
Darby began a little slowly but then bounced back after losing their first game against Philipsburg and won the match, 19-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-17. The Lady Tigers doubled up on kills, knocking down 46 while Philipsburg only had 23. Darby scored eight aces while Philipsburg only had four in the Western C win.
Victor lost to Drummond, 25-13, 25-20, 25-16. Jamie Burdett had six kills and 10 digs, Ali Elliott finished with three aces. Earlier in the week Victor lost to Valley Christian, 25-13, 25-21, 25-13. Krissy Kuettel had five kills and four aces.
