The Hamilton Broncs scored a touchdown in each quarter to take a 27-12 non-conference win over the Polson Pirates. Bret Huxtable ran the Bronc offense and carried the ball in for two scores, one from 23 yards out and another from 30 yards out. He threw a 25-yard pass to Jonathan Ringer for another touchdown. Alex Draper had the final touchdown, a four-yard plunge in the fourth quarter. Davonte Clark-Gardner was successful in kicking PATs on the first three touchdowns for Hamilton.
Frenchtown topped Corvallis, 21-14, in a hard fought non-conference game in Frenchtown. The Blue Devils’ first score was a fumble recovery that sophomore Cole Wohltman picked up and carried 87 yards for the score. Corvallis scored again in the third quarter when Hunter Humphrey pushed through from one yard out for the score. Caden Ayers kicked the PAT again.
Stevensville lost to Columbia Falls, 55-18.
Darby topped newcomer Plains, 46-42, in Western C action. Plains just dropped down to Class C and eight-man football this year and gave the Tigers a scare late in the game when they came back from being 24 points down. Although Darby scored 20 points in the second half, the Horsemen scored 28. Darby held on to win, 46-42. Darby quarterback Kye McCollaum, Zach McCrossin and Justin Horvath combined for seven touchdowns in the win. Zach McCrossin scored first for Darby when he ran in from 18 yards out. McCollaum hit McCrossin for the two-point conversion, which put the Tigers up by two points. Horvath scored first in the second quarter on a three-yard run. He scored once again on a 65-yard kick return. McCrossin caught a 34-yard pass form McCollaum for the final Darby TD and John Beckers caught a pass from McCollaum for the two-point conversion.
