NVPL renovation
North Valley Public Library is starting a renovation project and will be closed Friday, September 4. Starting September 5, the children’s room, teen area, restrooms and computers will be unavailable. The renovation is estimated to go through October 11. The renovation is being done in phases in order to minimize closing completely. The first phase consists of removal of asbestos ceiling tiles by Abatement Contractors of Montana, and the removal of the damaged ceiling grid and inefficient lights. There will be final air clearance after the abatement, followed by insulation replacement and the installation of a new grid and new lights. The carpet in the circulation, young adult, computer and seating area will be replaced.
The area of the library that will be available September 5-October 11 is the adult area. Patrons can still place and pick up holds, as well as check out adult materials. Since there will be no restroom facilities, patrons will need to limit the length of their visits.
Children’s programming will still take place in the community room and one restroom will be available from the community room during those events.
For more information call the library at 777-5061.

From the widely acclaimed best seller, “The Power of Now,” translated into 33 languages, rises “Practicing the Power of Now.” This book extracts the essence from Tolle’s teachings in the former classic to show us how we can free ourselves from “enslavement to the mind.” At the core of these teachings lies the transformation of consciousness, a spiritual awakening that Tolle sees as the next step in human evolution.
Eckhart Tolle is a sought-after public speaker and spiritual teacher and travels extensively throughout the world. An essential aspect of his profound yet simple teachings consists in transcending our ego-based state of consciousness as a prerequisite not only for our personal happiness but also for the ending of violence on our planet.
The Fellowship Club meets every second Thursday of the month in the West Meeting Room of the Bitterroot Public Library and is free and open to anyone seeking to promote individual and collective well being. Call 363-1670, or email jacostant@gmail.com for more information.
