Darby’s Keely Ehmann finished her high school track career in style at the State Class C meet in Laurel. The Carol College bound senior claimed the championships in the 100, 200, and 400 and led the Darby girls to a third place finish behind West Yellowstone and Seeley-Swan.
Ehmann clocked a time of 12.82 in the 100, edging out Tylynn Retting of North Star who had a 12:94. The speedster blew out the competition in the 200 with a blistering time of 26.01. Kylie Kerkaert of Shields Valley was second with a time of 26.33. Ehmann won the 400 on Friday with a time of 59.43, besting Manhattan Christian’s Alex Veltcamp who finished with a time of 59.53.
Lilly Lang also had a good state track meet for Darby. She finished fifth in the 3,200 with a time of 12:09.37. On Friday, Lang took fifth in the 1,600 with a time of 5:33.52. Tori Johnston was fifth in the long jump with a leap of 15’9”.
Joe Caicedo racked up some points for the Darby boys. His throw in the javelin was 190’1”, 24’8” farther than second place. John Beckers took fifth in that event with a throw of 159-3”. Caicedo finished third in the shot put with a throw of 45’11 ¼”. Austin Brentlinger of Twin Bridges won the event with a throw of 51’2”. Evan Duggan finished second in the 3,200 with a time of 10.11.07. The Darby boys finished in eighth place. Ennis won first place.
Victor’s Ryan Lewis did well at the meet. He finished third in the discus with a throw of 136’10”. First place was a throw of142’6” by Jordan Marsh of Reed Point/Rajelje. Lewis finished fifth in the shot put with a throw of 45’2 ¾”. Carlyjean Conley finished sixth in the shot put with a throw of 33’3”, 4’4” behind the winner, Brittney Nelson of Chinook. Conley was also sixth in the discus with a throw of 105’7”. Autumn Rehbein of Richie/Lambert won the event with a throw of 120’1”.
Florence’s Autumn Round was sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 34’9 ½”. Connor Thorne took fourth in the high jump for the Falcons.
