The Hamilton softball team got off to a good start on Friday, much to the dismay of Stevensville. The Lady Broncs defeated Stevensville, 16-3, in Southwest A action. Freshman Hayley Hudgins had pitching duties for Hamilton with Rachael Ringer catching. Carly Vercruyssen was the pitcher for Stevensville and Megan Finley the catcher.
McKayl Rothie went 4-for-4 at bat with a home run and three RBIs. Taylor Goligoski also had a home run and three RBIs. Goligoski went 2-for-4 at bat. Lauren Dolcater was 2-for-4 with three RBIs, a triple and a double. Kloi Nye, Tayler Reynolds and Shaylan Mohn also knocked doubles. Mohn and Reynolds each had an RBI.
Stevensville struggled at bat. Camie Beller went 2-for-3 and had an RBI. Taylor Rauch was 1-for-2 and also had an RBI.
Frenchtown topped Corvallis, 13-0, in the Blue Devils’ season opener. Corvallis then took on Dillon in their next contest. Dillon won, 14-4. Taylor Gagnon took the loss for Corvallis. Hannah Brown went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Kambrey Powell had an RBI for Corvallis also.
