Zen Buddhism Class
A class on the fundamental teachings of the Buddha as taught by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh will be held Wednesday, February 25 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Center for Spiritual Living, 1720 N. The class will include exercises of mindful breathing, listening, walking, eating; the Eightfold Path with the basic teaching on Mindfulness; the Five Precepts for living in the world; and the Heart Sutra. Quilters’ Guild

BPL Lego Club

Lutheran Lenten services
Our Savior Lutheran Church of Stevensville welcomes members of the community to Lenten services. Thursday Lenten Vesper services begin February 26, and continue each Thursday at 7 p.m. through March. Pastor Andrew Eckert will preach on the theme of the Passion of Christ. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a period of Christian contemplation and penitence. On a deeper level, the Lenten season is a time for personal reflection on the sacrifice of a most personal Savior, Jesus Christ, for the complete forgiveness of one’s sin. Such contemplation can result in wonderment and gratitude for God’s graciousness. A simple meal is offered before each Thursday evening Lenten service. Free soup and sandwich suppers are served in the fellowship hall at 6 p.m. Come for food and fellowship, then join in worship after supper. Our Savior, located at 184 Pine Hollow Road, is affiliated with the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod. To find the church, head south from Stevensville on the Eastside Highway. About one mile past the Burnt Fork Market, turn east onto Pine Hollow. Cross the tracks and the canal, and the church will be on your left, marked by three Roman crosses. Stevi public hearing
The Stevensville Town Council will hold a public hearing on Ordinance No. 156, An Ordinance Amending Special Event Permits on Thursday, February 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Hall. A copy of Ordinance No. 156 is available for review on the Town’s website, townofstevensville.com, or at the office of the Town Clerk at Town Hall. Second reading and adoption of the ordinance is scheduled for the Town Council meeting immediately following the public hearing.
Victor Park District
The next meeting of the Victor Park District will be on Thursday, February 26 at 7 p.m. at the Farmers State Bank conference room in Victor (use the south door). K of C Fish Fry
The Knights of Columbus will hold a Lenten Friday Fish Fry on Friday, February 27 from 5 to 6:45 p.m. at St. Francis Pastoral Center, 411 S. 5th, Hamilton. This is an excellent opportunity to get out of the house and let someone else do the cooking for you. The all-you-can-eat meal consists of fish, fries, coleslaw, and mac n cheese, vegetables, dessert and soft beverage. The price for the meal is $10.00 per person; children under nine eat free so bring the Kids! A family of four or more (2 adults and children) can eat for $35.00. Wine can be purchased separately. BEAR fundraiser
BEAR, a non-profit youth mentoring program, is having a benefit fundraiser on Friday, February 27 at 223 S. Second St., Hamilton. A silent auction with raffle, hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. A showing of the Warren Miller ski film “No Turning Back” will take place at 7 p.m. Awesome outdoor gear prize giveaways during intermission! Family Fun Night
On Friday, February 27, enjoy a great evening for the entire family! “Return to Origins: Universal Perspective of The Unfolding of Time”, Saturdays, February 28 and March 7, 1-5 p.m. Are you searching for a life filled with meaning and purpose? Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child invites you to the annual “Celebration” Event on Saturday, February 28 on 7 p.m. at the Cornerstone Church, 280 Fairgrounds Road in Hamilton. Arthritis exercise classes
Do you have concerns about exercising with arthritis? Do you need help learning about how to exercise safely and effectively? Then the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program being offered by the Marcus Daly Rehabilitation Center is right for you. This program is specifically tailored to assist people who have arthritis get exercise to help reduce pain and improve their overall health, but you don’t have to have arthritis to participate. The exercise class begins Monday, March 2 and takes place two times per week on Mondays and Thursdays from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. for eight weeks. The class includes health education, exercise and relaxation activities. Exercises can be modified to fit individual participants so everyone can participate. Physical activity log books will help you track your progress. The cost for this class is $56.00 (no refunds). Sons of Norway
Bitterrootdalen Lodge, Sons of Norway, will meet Tuesday, March 3 at 5 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Hamilton. The Lodge will provide corned beef and cabbage. The Ravalli County Spelling Bee will be held Tuesday, March 3 at 7 p.m. at the Hamilton Middle School. Each county school district sends two contestants. The public is invited; there is no admission charge. Sarah Windsor, eighth grade English teacher at Corvallis, is the Pronouncer. Robin Clute is the Honorary Judge. Winners will advance to the Montana Treasure State Bee is in Billings, on Saturday, March 21.
Fly Fishers
The monthly meeting of Fly Fishers of the Bitterroot will be on Tuesday, March 3, at BJ’s Restaurant in Hamilton. The social hour is from 6 to 7 p.m. with cocktails/dinner optional. This month’s speaker is Dan Sheperd from Grizzly Hackle Fly Shop in Missoula. Dan has lived and fished in Montana, Idaho and Utah. He has fished for trout in South America, Russia, Europe and Alaska. Since 2001 he has been at Grizzly Hackle as the Managing Partner and is also Travel Director at Wild On The Fly Adventure Travel. His presentation is “From Russia to the Bahamas, to Slovenia & Places In Between.” This promises to be an exciting report on fly fishing these exotic fisheries.
