We are disappointed in Governor Bullock’s attempt to further expand Obamacare in Montana. No matter how Governor Bullock tries to spin it, the Healthy Montana Plan is merely Obamacare expansion by another name.
We need positive reforms that bring better access and affordability to our healthcare system, but expanding Medicaid under Obamacare is not the answer. The Governor’s goal should be to reduce the number of people who need public assistance, not to increase it. Yet, the Governor’s plan does nothing more than add 77,000 uninsured Montana’s onto the state’s welfare rolls.
Americans for Prosperity Montana will be engaging its network of activists in the coming weeks to encourage the Governor to pursue free-market alternatives that will create opportunity and prosperity for all Montanans.
