Support for Burson

October 31, 2014 by Guest Post

The contrast between candidates for 4th District Ravalli County Commissioner — Clint Burson and Jeff Burrows — could not be greater.

In contrast to Jeff Burrows, who’s family business apparently is survival shelters and fear of government collapse, Clint Burson is a skilled editor, a teacher of communications at the Bitterroot College, a former magazine publisher and, before that, retail worker, who thinks seriously about the practical aspects of making government serve the important needs of its citizens. Clint wants improved county roads, good health services and innovative improvements to Internet service in the valley, among many other things. We heard about these issues directly from Clint at a recent meet-and-greet. He couldn’t have been more gracious or forthcoming in his answers to tough questions about how to improve county government. Clint also values his significant family ties to conservatives in Ravalli County and thinks creatively and independently about working with other points of view to resolve county problems.

And the very fact that Commissioner J.R. Iman is supporting Clint’s opponent is one of the stronger reasons to vote for Clint (voteforclint.com ). In other words, if you like the way that the commissioners have functioned in the past few years, voting for someone Iman supports is probably a great way to assure that you’ll get more of the same.

It’s terribly important that our commissioners have a moderate, independent voice among them. We say, vote for Clint.
