Creative Card Making
Creative Card Making will take place Wednesday, October 29 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Center for Spiritual Living, 1720 N. 1st Street (north of Sears), Hamilton. Come join the fun and make personalized cards for all occasions. All materials will be furnished for you to make three beautiful cards to give to loved ones on their special day! Mansion Haunted Hayrides
Do you dare trick or treat in a Haunted Village? The ghouls, goblins, zombies and perhaps a clown will be your nightmare as you climb aboard a hay wagon and venture out to the Daly Mansion grounds where things are not what they have seemed before. Keep your eyes peeled for ghosts and your friends close beside you! Hayride times are Thursday, October 30 from 7 to 10 p.m., Friday, October 31 from 8 to 11 p.m. and Saturday, November 1 from 8 to 11 p.m. Cost is $5.00 per person. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Friday, October 31
Halloween Parade
The annual Halloween Costume Parade in downtown Hamilton will take place on Friday, October 31, at 4:30 p.m. Kids in costume should gather at 4:30 p.m. at Fourth and Main in Hamilton for the start of the event. Younger kids should be accompanied by an adult. The parade route is short – Main Street will be closed from Second to Fourth Streets from 4-6 p.m. for safety, and after the parade, kids are welcome to trick-or-treat at downtown businesses until they close. The parade’s start is 30 minutes later than in previous years, in response to comments from parents who found it hard to get kids home from school, dressed in their costumes, and downtown for the parade. Trunk or Treat
Stevensville United Methodist Church, located at 216 College Street, will hold their annual Halloween Trunk or Treat event on Friday, October 31 starting at 5 p.m. There will be treats for kids young and old. Come and enjoy safe, family fun.
Spaghetti Feed
A Spaghetti Feed will be held Friday, October 31 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Eagles Lodge, 125 N. 2nd in Hamilton. Menu includes spaghetti with meatballs, garlic bread and salad. This fun and casual dinner is open to all.
Trunk or Treat
Sportsmen Church will hold a Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 31 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 3919 Stevensville River Road. Along with plenty of sweet treats they will provide food and hot drinks. Feel free to decorate your trunk and join them or just stop by for some treats and fellowship. There will also be a bounce house for the little ones. Haunted Mansion Dinner Party
You are invited to enjoy some adult Halloween fun while supporting the Daly Mansion on Friday, October 31. A delicious Harvest Dinner will be served in the formal living room which will include wine followed by a tempting variety of other activities including live music by the Big Sky Mudflaps in the 3rd floor Billiard Room. You can also visit with a psychic, go ghost hunting in the rarely available basement, and be sure to climb aboard the Haunted Hayride for a bewitching jaunt around the Mansion grounds where the ghouls and goblins have emerged. If you come in costume you have a chance at winning a prize. There will be door prizes and plenty of spooky surprises throughout the house. Golden Age dance
Come down to the Golden Age Hall, 727 S. 5th, Hamilton on Friday, October 31 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. for live bands and dancing. The group will be celebrating Halloween. Come dressed in costume and show off your Halloween spirit. This is a non-alcoholic and non-smoking venue. Bring a Halloween themed potluck snack to be served at music break. Cost is $3.00 a person. Flea market
A flea market will be held Saturday, November 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Eagles Lodge, 125 N 2nd, Hamilton. Lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The public is welcome.
Library lecture
A free lecture on “The Body-Mind Connection” will be presented by Rae Linden, MA, teacher and therapist, on Saturday, November 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bitterroot Public Library in Hamilton. Come and learn how what you think affects your body and how what your body is experiencing affects your mind and emotions. Informational, educational and fun.
Senior Center bingo
Hamilton Senior Center will be hosting a Special Saturday Bingo on November 1. Doors open at 12 noon, games start at 1 p.m. Paper cards will be used; free refreshments will be served. Must be 18 to play. Call Cathy at 375-9276 for information.
Square dance club
Boots ‘n’ Calico’s Halloween Costume Party will be Saturday, November 1 at the new location, the Golden Age Hall (old Jefferson School gym), 727 S. 5th Street, Hamilton. There will be prizes for best costumes in various categories. Ray Dunbar will call plus dancing from 7 to 7:30 p.m. followed by a mainstream dance from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Visitors are welcome. Halloween Dance Party
Come to our Halloween Dance Party and enjoy the sounds of the Kimberlee Carlson Swing Quintet on Saturday, November 1 from 7 to 11 p.m. River Street Dance Theater is hosting this “spooky” event to raise funds for student scholarships. There will be a silent auction, costume contests, hors d’oeuvres and refreshments, as well as great dance music, all taking place at the studio at 421 North Second St, Hamilton. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students.

No jam sessions
Sapphire Lutheran Homes Sunday jam sessions will not meet on November 2 or on November 30. Other than those two dates, the group will meet each Sunday from 2:30 to 4 p.m. into December and the Christmas season. All acoustic sessions are open to any acoustic musicians. Computer classes
The Darby Community Public Library will offer classes in Microsoft Intermediate Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint in November in cooperation with the Bitterroot College. Microsoft Intermediate Excel is scheduled for November 3 and 10 from 3 to 6 p.m. Microsoft PowerPoint is scheduled for November 17 and 24 from 3 to 6 p.m. Each computer course includes six hours of class time with a college course fee of $40.
All classes are open for registration. Classes will run with a minimum of seven participants. Register at the library or online through the college. Class size is limited. Contact the Darby Community Public Library at 821-4771 for more information.
Tuesday, November 4
Sons of Norway
Bitterrootdalen Lodge, Sons of Norway, will meet on Tuesday, November 4 at 5 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Hamilton. Nominations for 2015 officers will be discussed, and a musical program is planned. There will be planning for a Christmas celebration. The Lodge will provide turkey dinner, with drinks and service. Members and visitors are invited to bring a side dish. As always, the public is invited.
Ravalli County Democrats
The Democrats of Ravalli County will be gathering together on Tuesday, November 4 at 6 p.m. upstairs of the Banque Club on 3rd and Main in Hamilton. You are cordially invited – BYOB and bring a dish to share. Watch the election returns and just have fun being together. Celebrate the campaigns and thank the candidates for stepping up to

Fly Fishers
The Fly Fishers of the Bitterroot will meet Tuesday, November 4 at 7 p.m. at BJ’s Restaurant in Hamilton. This month’s speaker will be FWP fisheries biologist Chris Clancy who will speak about Bitterroot River fish population surveys, a potential fish removal project in the Upper West Fork and methods of identifying west slope cutthroat, rainbows and hybrids. Come to learn more about the river and the fish we love.

Stevi Garden Club
The Stevensville Garden Club will meet Wednesday, November 5 at 1 p.m. at the Community Baptist Church, 409 Buck Street, Stevensville. Master Gardener Open House
A Master Gardener Open House will be held on Wednesday, November 5 at the Bitterroot Public Library from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. All alumni and aspiring Master Gardeners welcome. The event will include presentations from local gardening volunteer leaders and a special Q&A session with local experts Sylvia McNeil (Master Arborist), Molly Hackett (Master Gardener and author) and Jim Story (Entomologist).
