Karren ‘Sissy’ Morton

July 8, 2014 by Editor

Sis Morton.1

Stevensville – Karren “Sissy” Morton of Stevensville, MT, passed away on June 30, 2014 with close family and friends at her bedside. Sissy passed away from a complication caused by an infection, and a fall at home on Saturday, June 28th. Sissy was a 6-½ year advanced ovarian cancer survivor and was recently responding very well to a new chemotherapy drug and had high hopes for remission.
A greater fighter and hero does not exist. Though life had thrown her many hard challenges, Sissy always persevered. She was always thoughtful of others. Even at her lowest, she was always finding ways to help others and stay positive.
Sissy touched many people in her short 48 years with us. She is survived by her mother, Brenda Morton, and her father, Mickey Morton and spouse Nancy Menez, brother Steven Morton, sons Jesse Barteaux (fiancée Brook), Jake Barteaux, and Rayn Morton (spouse Abby). Her grandchild Alex was her pride and joy and Sissy was looking forward to grandbaby #2, and doted on her goddaughter Sarah Ava Craun. She is also survived by her beloved aunt Quetta, uncles Chuck and Frank and their extended families in Oregon.
Sissy was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather and grandmother and her paternal grandfather and grandmother.
Sissy had so many friends around the world they cannot all be mentioned here. She loved and was grateful for every one of them.
A memorial and potluck will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 3 p.m. at the Lone Rock School on Three Mile Road. In lieu of flowers, live plants for a memorial garden are greatly appreciated. Donations to the Ovarian Cancer Society in her name are also welcome. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.whitesittfuneralhome.com.

Sis will always be a part of me, the bigest part of her will forever be with her kids.
