Enid Eileen Crocker

May 1, 2014 by Editor

Florence – On April 11, 2014, Enid Eileen Coltrane Crocker peacefully passed into Glory at the age of 95 at Kathy’s Place in Florence,

Montana. Enid was born in Basin, Wyoming on April 22, 1918, the daughter of Clarence McKindra Coltrane and Bessie Mabia Smith Coltrane. She was the younger of two children. When she was 2 weeks old, the family moved to Casper, Wyoming where she lived until October 2011 when she moved to Florence, Montana to live with her daughter.

After graduating from Natrona County High School, Enid attended the University of Nebraska, joining the Phi Mu Sorority. She studied to become a teacher but then chose to major in business instead. Before World War II, she worked in the Capital Land Office in Cheyenne, Wyoming. During this time, she met Stephen Skirrow Crocker and they were married on August 31, 1940. After the war, they settled in Casper, Wyoming. They had three children: Stephen Skirrow Crocker II was born in Los Angeles, California in 1946 where his father attended Los Angeles School of Optometry. Dianne Patricia was born in 1948 and Sheryl Ann was born in 1950 in Casper, Wyoming.

Enid was an excellent homemaker and mother. Her hobby was gardening but her passion was her roses! In 1997 she was awarded the “Yard of the Month” by the Casper Community Appearance Committee for her glorious tea roses. She also began oil painting after the nest was empty and won a number of blue ribbons at the Central Wyoming Fair. However, she saved the best for last. On November 15, 2013 she committed her remaining days into the care of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! When you think of her now, know she is in His loving presence.

She was preceded in death by her husband Stephen in 1988, father Clarence, mother Bessie, brother Richard, sister-in-law Mary and nephew Robert. She is survived by her children Stephen Crocker (Kathy) of Houston, Texas; Dianne Orton (Thayne) of Florence, Montana; and Sheryl Kelly (Mike) of Arvada, Colorado; six grandchildren: Trisha Crocker and Scott Crocker of Houston, Kathy Kelly of Golden, Colorado, Seth Enes of Missoula, Montana, Erin Orton of Livingston, Montana and Collin Orton (wife Andee) of Missoula, Montana; and three great grandchildren: Brice Alan, Baylee Anne and Bella Erin Orton.

Cremation has taken place and her ashes will be spread in Casper, Wyoming at a later date during a private ceremony. Everything that has breath, praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Psalm 150:6. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.whitesittfuneralhome.com.
