Drum Circle
Drum Circle will take place at the Center for Spiritual Living on Wednesday, May 28 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Center for Spiritual Living. African Hand Drumming promotes access to the universal heartbeat that exists within and around all things. Bring your drum, rattles, and other instruments and come be part of the fun. No drum? Candidate forums
The Bitterroot Valley Chamber of Commerce will host two Candidate Forums in Hamilton at the Hamilton Middle School Auditorium. A forum for candidates for county offices will be held Wednesday, May 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. A forum for state offices will be held Thursday, May 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. For more information call the Chamber 363-2400.

BPL Story Time
Young children are invited to meet in the children’s corner of the Bitterroot Public Library on Friday, May 30 to enjoy “It’s Summer Time!” created by storyteller Spring Fay. Hear great stories and try some activities and crafts! Story time begins at 10:30 a.m. and is designed for children 3-5 years of age. All story times are free and open to the public.
Golden Age dance
The Golden Age Club invites you to join them on Friday nights with their live band dances from7:30 to 10 p.m. with the next one scheduled for Friday, May 30 at the Golden Age Club, 727 S. 5th St. in Hamilton. Pull Weeds for Wildlife!
A community weed pull to help improve wildlife habitat will be held Saturday, May 31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge (just north of Stevensville). In previous years volunteers pulled 2,500 pounds in just two hours! This 10th annual free event offers a free lunch and door prizes for participating. Wilderness Skills Weekend
The Bitter Root Back Country Horsemen (BBCH) will hold their annual Wilderness Skills Weekend on May 31-June 1 at Charles Waters Campground on the Stevensville Ranger District. The event is free to the public and runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Sessions for attendees include packing, Leave-No-Trace camping, stock containment, setting up camp, backcountry cooking and safety, GPS navigation and SPOT satellite devices, equine first aid, and more. BBCH was established more than 30 years ago and was one of the first chapters in the nation. Its goal is to ensure that stock users can continue to access backcountry and wilderness trails. The club annually contributes over 600 personal hours and 425 stock hours on projects, most on the National Forest, that create significant benefits for all trail users and for the natural resources.
Pet vaccination clinic
A Low Cost Vaccination Clinic will be held Saturday, May 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at BRHA Animal Shelter, 262 Fairgrounds Rd., Hamilton. Vaccinations, nail trims, microchips, and name tags will be available. Cost will be $15 for dog booster, rabies, or kennel cough; $25 for cat booster with leukemia. All proceeds benefit the Bitter Root Humane Association. For more information, contact the Shelter at 363-5311.
Eagles events
The FOE Eagles Montana State Aerie and Auxiliary Presidents will visit Bitterroot Lodge (125 N 2nd Street, Hamilton) on Saturday, May 31 for a social from 5 to 7 p.m. and for all the evening’s activities. Installation of officers for the Aerie and Auxiliary for the 2014-15 year will be held Saturday, May 31 at 6 p.m. in the Aerie Hall. All members are encouraged to attend and meet the new officers. The annual FOE Eagles Mother/Father Dinner will be follow at 7 p.m. in the Aerie Hall for members and their guests. The free meal will include chicken, potato salad, baked beans, dessert and more.
