Commissioner Foss, I have read and re-read your recent rambling submittal three times and continue to feel sorrow that so many folks in Ravalli County seem to misunderstand your intentions, me included! None of us like to be criticized and it seems in the past years you have generated a significant amount. I am sure that gets discouraging when your intentions are so good.
You indicated that you feel blessed to be part of the constitutional process. If that is true I shouldn’t make any snide comments about withstanding the heat in the kitchen and will only remind you that the pay is not too bad and the benefits are terrific. On the positive side, being a County Commissioner is a great political introduction into running for Congress or even the Senate on the federal level. The mindset would be similar to your current position, the pay nearly $15,000 per month and you would only have to work about 10% of the time. Best of all, you could return to Hamilton frequently and strut your stuff!
On March 5, 2014, a Mr. Bill LaCroix of Victor submitted a letter titled “Paying dearly for lapse in vigilance” that factually details step by step how we got into this mess. I do not know Mr. LaCroix, but I commend him for this insight and intelligent analysis.
I have noted, Commissioner Foss, that you have filed for re-election along with your good friend Valerie Stamey (aka, aka … ). Good luck to both of you!
