The Florence/Darby Invitational track meet was held Thursday at Corvallis with 14 teams competing. Hamilton took both the boys’ and girls’ team titles. Kaitlin Stromberg of Hamilton won the 1,600 and the 3,200 paced the Broncs in the girls’ scoring. Also picking up wins for the Broncs were Sami Kratofil in the javelin and Annika Moore in the triple jump.
Abe Westfall won the triple jump for Hamilton. Anthony Schmalz won the 3,200 and Karill Apendaile won the 1,600. The relay team of Kris Cleveland, Kyle Crossman, Hunter Bumgarner and Jonathon McLane won the 400 relay race.
Only a few members of Corvallis’ track team competed on Thursday. They were planning on competing in Columbia Falls on Saturday. However the Montana spring weather put a damper on that and it was cancelled due to snow and wind. Katelin Frost won the long jump and the pole vault.
Stevensville picked up wins in the 1,600 relay, the high jump and the 400. Jadin Casey won the 400 and then ran the first leg of the 1,600 relay. Jake Bartschi, James Fry, and Randy McGrann were the other members of the relay team. Chris Lords tied for first in the high jump with Danny Mannix of Drummond and Kameron Kohn of Hamilton.
Darby’s Joe Caicedo won the javelin and the shot put with a put of 45’6 1/2”. Zac Agee of Victor won the long jump.
