Stevensville – Cristy Boggs Grayson, R.N., 35, passed away due to cancer, in the evening, Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the family home in Stevensville. She was born April 29, 1978, to Roger H. and Pat (Helly) Boggs in Cut Bank.
She graduated from Salish Kootenai College and the University of Montana. She and Douglas P. Grayson were married Sept. 16, 2005, in Florence.
Cristy loved being a nurse and was Nurse of the Year at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula in 2010, where she worked for 10 years on 4 North, the cardiac floor. She was very outgoing and made friends easily. Her co-workers joked they could hear her voice and laughter before she appeared. And then there was her favorite “I know, right.” The following is written by a close friend: “On April 9, St. Patrick Hospital lost an angel. Cristy Grayson, R.N., was one of the most highly respected and loved nurses on the cardiac floor. She struggled with cancer for three years with bravery and a smile on her face. She never lost her sense of humor or her concern for others.”
She enjoyed cooking in her beautiful kitchen, skiing, floating local rivers, hiking, boating and camping with family and friends.
Cristy especially loved her husband and son and enjoyed going home for family functions. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
There will be a service to celebrate Cristy’s life on Thursday, April 24, at 5:30 p.m. at the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation in Missoula. Cordell Norgaard will officiate.
She is survived by husband Douglas P. Grayson; son Jacob Grayson and stepchild Ryan Grayson, all of Florence; stepchild Kayla Grayson of Seneca S.C.; mother Pat Boggs of Cutbank; father Roger Boggs of Browning; sisters, Shelley Morgan of Missoula, Stacy Edwards and Monica Buel, both of Browning.
The family suggests memorials be sent to the St. Patrick Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 4587, Missoula MT 59806, or a charity of your choice.
