The Hamilton Downtown Association is hosting its annual Community Crab Feed on Saturday, April 5, in the Community Center at Hamilton City Hall. The fun-filled evening is a fundraiser for the HDA, which supports the Hamilton community and produces events such as Daly Days, the children’s Halloween Costume Parade, and the Christmas Stroll.
A no-host bar opens at 5:30 p.m., with dinner starting at 6:30 p.m., including crab served with melted butter, salad, baked potato, and dessert, for $30 per person.
The event features a “pirate” theme, and attendees are encouraged, though not required, to come in costume. Prizes will be awarded for the best pirate costumes.
Other highlights include a silent auction, and a raffle for the Bitter Root Valley Entertainment Package, with tickets to events and businesses ranging from the Pharaohplex movie theater and the Hamilton Playhouse, to the Ravalli County Fair, with a total value close to $200. Raffle tickets are $10 each, or three for $25.
“It’s great fun and delicious food,” said HDA Coordinator Russ Lawrence. “The tables start out decorated with treasure maps, and end up covered in heaps of crab shells. Everyone has a great time.”
The HDA promotes the “Shop, Live, and Give Local” message, said Lawrence, encouraging Hamilton-area residents to support their neighbors.
Tickets for the Community Crab Feed and raffle tickets for the entertainment package are available at Chapter One Book Store and The Paper Clip in Hamilton, or by calling the HDA at 360-9124.
