Hamilton – Gary R. Ince, 64, of Hamilton passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula of a heart attack. He was born October 10, 1950 in Decatur, Illinois, the son of James and Alice Jane (McCrossman) Ince.
Gary’s family moved around and he was raised partly in Bend, OR and partly in Albuquerque, NM, where he graduated from high school. After high school he attended a two year business college in Laughlin, TX. He then began his building career in the 1970’s, building homes throughout the Bitterroot and Missoula Valleys. Gary was well known for his craftsmanship and quality of his homes. He felt a sense of pride and satisfaction for a job well done.
Gary loved nothing more than being with his family and horses, riding into the Bitterroot Mountains or ‘The Bob’. He couldn’t wait to see what was around the next bend. Gary also loved hunting and fishing. He especially loved taking his children and it gave him great satisfaction to see them have a successful trip.
Gary married the love of his life, Jackie, on May 5, 1994. Jackie brought three children of her own and together they had Rachel in 1995.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ronald. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Ince; two daughters, Rachel and Devra Ince; two stepchildren, Jamie and Keegan Strelnik; his sister, Carol Mann; his brother, Charles Ince; and three nephews.
